Well yeah, the reason is because the carnivore diet is a diet and you would expect the comments to be about the effects of the diet. Whereas veganism is not a diet but an ethical stance where one aligns their actions with our belief that unnecessary harm should be avoided (because the implication of accepting unnecessary harm is that you must acknowledge unnecessary torture is morally permissible because torture is a form of unnecessary harm (which seems strange but logically checks out)), so you would expect the comments to be about ethics, generally about the fact that since not harming animals is not only possible but easy because of the modern world we live in, evidenced by the existence of gold medal vegan Olympians, and the great mass of data which supports the claim, that is it the moral obligation to be vegan, and I'm not sure that there are actually any reasonable arguments against veganism.

Hey, I'm Jonathan Griffiths, a 29-year-old with a BSc in Human Nutrition from Bournemouth, Dorset. My journey as an amateur bodybuilder has been unique due to a fused spine from a rugby injury at 14 and my Autism. Despite these hurdles, I've found incredible success on the carnivore diet over the past four years, after other pain relief methods failed. I have since competed twice as a carnivore bodybuilder, with my recent showing on June 2nd 2024 where I placed first against an extremely competitive line-up. I am going to the British finals to try and earn my pro card in the open category in classic bodybuilding, as a disabled athlete. Meanwhile, I have had my spine fused in 2022, and various procedures to try and reduce the pain I am in. I am currently primarily a body composition coach in the carnivore community and have helped hundreds of people to reach their goals. The carnivore diet is my only option to try and thrive, and I love it! My diet mainly includes beef, salmon, chicken, eggs, cheese, milk, and butter. I avoid fruits, veggies, grains, nuts, seeds, oils, and sugars. I drink water, coffee, and bone broth. No calorie counting here, just focusing on around 350 grams of protein and fat each day for the past 4.5 years. In the beginning, I lost 5 pounds and felt a surge in energy, focus, and calmness. I woke up refreshed, with no cravings or GI issues. My workouts stayed strong, with better muscle pumps, vascularity, and faster recovery. The diet eased the pain and stiffness in my spine, giving me more freedom and comfort. It reduced my need for medications and improved my autism-related symptoms, like anxiety and mood swings. My social skills and communication also got better. Blood tests before and after the diet showed my liver and kidney damage from a virus had healed. My blood markers such as liver and kidney functions were normal, with no nutrient deficiencies or hormonal issues. This diet has been eye-opening, challenging many common dietary beliefs. I've learned that meat is highly nutritious and satisfying, and plants aren't essential or particularly beneficial for me. This is especially relevant given the genetic and metabolic traits seen in people with autism. I've stuck to the carnivore diet, with occasional treats like 'Hot Pot' and Korean BBQ, which I can cook myself at restaurants. On my KZbin channel 'Carnivore Muscle,' I share my carnivore lifestyle, training tips, nutritional advice, and recipes, building a community of fellow carnivores and inspiring others to try this way of life. I fully recommend the carnivore diet to anyone looking to improve their health, fitness, and well-being, especially fellow bodybuilders and those with spinal conditions or autism. In my view, it's the best way to enhance both body and mind. 💪🥩🚀

But for a while try to get more cheese and some (very yummy 😊!) cold fresh egg yoks(as many as you can tolerate. There is many recipes how to use yoks with fatty fresh cheese, like tiramisu- soooo good. I kant eat it😂,because im on the weight loss (as a side effect!), and my main goal- my health, my joints, my strength.,flexibility, mood and good and smooth skin (because I'm a girl,😅 it's important). Glad the diet is going well for you, my bro. You can see the transformation you've had with it. Are you adding exercise in as well? If not, I'd highly recommend even just a daily calisthenics routine - skip the cardio BS, unless you enjoy running. Push-ups, pull-ups, squats. If you've got some weights, or do down the road, you can add those in as well, but basic calisthenics alone are amazing. If you'd like an assist on putting the routine together, just lemme know - I can lay it out right here in the comments for ya. Expect about 30-45 minutes a day, or a few hours a week cumulatively. Easy peasy. Much love, keep rockin

@Deuce-G-RCАй бұрын
@@NickLeonard excellent! You've got everything you need. Hit those push-ups as well, and squats (use your dumbbells for resistance) - that way you're getting full body. What set/reps/rest are you doing? Aim for short rest breaks in between sets (2-3 minutes), and look to do more reps per set every time. 3-5 sets/exercise. Once it starts getting too easy, you can rig up something to add more resistance - I've even put my dumbbells in a backpack before to add resistance for pull up/chinups. Speaking of pull-ups and Chinese, I'd recommend alternating between them - that way you're covering two muscle groups. These are a bit tough to get good sets in with a shorter rest, but aim for that same time frame above if possible. If you have juice left in your biceps on chinup day, you can finish with 3-5 sets on your dumbbells. Resistance bands are also great to keep things cheap and compact. If you really start getting into it, you can get a nice cage and bench for pretty cheap. Biggest cost is generally the bar and weights, but you can often get stuff used on Craigslist even. If you hit the above for 6 months, with your diet, you'll be getting pretty jacked. This may be stuff you already know, but I hope there's something you can use with what I wrote. Have a good one!

Still watching, but wow, you totally hit the nail on the head when you talked about keto temptations! I used to go overboard with homemade keto cakes and cookies too. It felt like I was still addicted to sugar, just swapping it out for erythritol. Carnivore has been such a breath of fresh air-so simple! I walk into the butcher, grab some meat, eggs, and butter, and that’s it. I’m out the door with zero stress, plus it's way easier to stick to my budget. I’m on day 100 now, and I thought I’d get tired of eating meat, but honestly? I’m still loving it. I switched from keto back in June after a four-month stint, and while the first couple of weeks were rough, now I’m off antidepressants and anti-anxiety meds, and even alternate day fasting feels easy. A lot of friends say, ‘Isn’t that super restrictive?’ But you know what? What’s really restrictive is battling anxiety, depression, and being so out of shape that tying my shoes left me breathless. If eating meat improves my quality of life in every other way, I'll take it any day! Once you feel the benefits, it’s like… why go back? I think a lot of people don’t realize how much better they could feel until they try it themselves

My version was fish, chicken, eggs, cheese and 2 beef meals per week with Broccoli, Cauliflower, asparagus, spinach or Brussels sprouts included with each meal. No bread, rice, pasta or sweets. I was mountain biking 3-4 day a week and lifting moderately 3 days a week. In 5 months I dropped to 170 pounds and my energy was very high. My problem came with another injury that kept me from working out and my craving for carbs got me back up to 210 pounds.I've maintained a weight of about 185 pounds for the last 20 years even now at 60 just limiting my starches. I would like to drop another 20 pounds so I'm starting to get more disciplined.

yea it's amazing the influence diet has on our mood, outlook, and brain function. I mean until someone actually sees first hand how they are supposed to feel and function, they wont have a clue. We assume what is, is normal. For most, we exist in this out of tune state and assume it is normal, because we dont know any better. It's not until we reach that better state that we realize how off it actually was. Like if someone feels bad in any way, somethings very possibly wrong with what theyre eating. It's supposed to feel good to be you, and your body is tuned to be that way if you just give it what it needs to do it.

I have found there's a lot of diets that we will lose weight and should feel better if we're not doing the processed foods and lowering our empty carbs/ sugar intake, but the nutritional aspect of eating bioavailable nutrients was very noticeable with carnivore for me. I too found Keto harder and was not getting the same results that I am now . I'm satisfied and satiated and when I increased the animal fat /collagen intake , all the other benefits and improvements were quite noticeable, like mental clarity, mood, sleep , energy and all my GI issues I had are gone. It's to the point that I'm not even concentrating on the weight loss .

Pretty much a similar experience as far as trying all the food combinations over the years. I spent most of my years vegetarian or pescatarian. I have done vegan for 3 years, I have also done carnivore this year. I made it 60 days on carnivore, and only stopped because 60 days of loose stools was just about all I could take lol. That said, I felt pretty good on the steak diet, supplementing with electrolytes and supplements like potassium, magnesium and vitamins C,D and B1. I never cheated on the carnivore diet, only needed to eat once or twice a day, and felt very satiated on it. I did want to reduce weight, but in 60 days I maybe dropped 5 lbs. It was significantly more expensive for me to eat all meat, but only because the taste of hamburger and dark meat poultry is vile to me. I even stopped eating eggs because the smell made me nauseous. It ended up with me pretty much eating steak every day. I loved eating the steak, but the cost was a lot, and not teally sustainable long-term. I find I am happiest eating whole foods. I like veggies and fruits and complex carbs, sweet potatoes and fermented foods. There are benefits to carnivore, no doubt. The mushy poop though, yuck, too much information sure, but you need to know it's a very real possibility. Everyone is different. 😊

By that time all of my other symptoms were gone, but I had really started worrying that it wouldn't address my liquid stools. So glad it did because I suffer eating plants of any kind. I miss fruit too, and have slipped and some maybe three times in the three years I've been carnivore and it never ends well. Just one serving of fruit will not just bring back my symptoms, but it also starts a bad craving, making me want more and more. If I'm weak and keep having fruit it will eventually lead to me having even less healthy sweets. So I have learned I have to take a zero tolerance stance to fruit. Also anything high carb. I can occasionally get away with small servings of certain low carb vegetables but I try and do that rarely because even with those I don't feel my best.

I tried carnivore and believed it was optimal, humans are carnivores etc for a while but no longer think that is true. The explosive diarrhoea and having to adapt energetically are red flags which come early on. I agree about the unreactivity to common stressors, I also notably experienced a lack of road rage, where I just didn't care and could brush things off easily. However, I found that I was also in a sort of slowed down, numbed state where on reflection I wasn't really fully living. I do think that having zero carbs and relying too much on the inefficiency of gluconeogenesis is itself a stressor, which goes unnoticed as it becomes a constant. I've experienced it long term and the relief from the stress, repeatedly. The final kicker for me is the same way full on explosive energy isn't there in exercise without exogenous carbs, I found the same is true for my brain. I'm not foolish enough to declare this to be the case for all humans, but it certainly was the case for me, so it may very well be the case for others too.
@jeCktHeReal2 ай бұрын
Did you eat enough protein for your bodily needs and done so in a one meal a day fashion? If not it's likely you were just not fat adapted enough (takes about 6-12 months for most ppl) and so you had electrolyte issues. That's what many people do wrong on the diet, undereating and not eating enough protein in one meal to have a significant insulin bump to signal to the kidneys to hold on to electrolytes.
@AR-gk1kt2 ай бұрын
@@jeCktHeReal I did try higher protein and OMAD for a while and always had a big beef dinner. It shouldn't take over 6 months to adapt to a supposedly optimal diet. If like the Maasai and other tribes I drink only milk for days on end I have no issues with diarrhoea, electrolytes, easily losing too much weight, or brain feeling slow.
@jeCktHeReal2 ай бұрын
@@AR-gk1kt that's your opinion but it really takes over 6-12 months for the body to truly adapt to something it hasn't been doing for DECADES. Stop looking at tribes. Eat a sufficient amount of animal protein for your bodily needs (1.75 - 2 x your lean body mass [in Kg] = daily minimum protein intake [in G]) in one meal, salt to taste, then animal fat till satiety, drink water when thirsty +- low-carb dairy, eggs, fish. It really is this easy, you won't have electrolyte imbalances and you can stop comparing yourself to others and also stop blaming a diet for you not doing it right.
@AR-gk1kt2 ай бұрын
@@jeCktHeReal I was meat heavy low carb for years and pure carnivore for months, while you may be able to survive it's not optimal in my opinion. When referring to tribes I'm only pointing out that a milk based diet is ancestrally applicable and has none of the issues of carnivore, as carnivore is often sold as 'the proper human diet' in an ancestral framework.
@jeCktHeReal2 ай бұрын
@@AR-gk1kt Why the hang up on the ancestral thing? I presume you are not Maasai. Milk is just about the worst animal foods for ordinary people to consume, along with organ meats.
