2:13 You actually can defeat the Zols in that room without any extra echoes. You can pick up the boxes and throw them to deal damage. Each Zol needs to be hit by a box twice. There are 5 Zols and 9 boxes, which makes it seem like there aren't enough boxes, since the boxes break after you throw them. However, you can hit two Zols at once with a single box, which makes it possible to get through the room with just the boxes. If you get high enough, you can also just drop a table echo on a Zol to damage them, like you did in the Link fight.

Personally, I'm more interested in just how few unique echos you can use to beat the game as intended (low%). From my own experience, you can get through the entire first half of the game with only about half a dozen echos, if that.

there has been stuff for glitchless as well, minimum to learn is 10 echoes, and minimum summons is like 33 or smth less than that Switch Summit has some close videos on that

By intended story progression, you need 10 echoes. Table (obvious reason) Eagle & Elephant statue (gerudo sanctuary door) Ancient orb (lost Woods puzzle) Mole (required for gerund area as no other echo can dig sand) Bombfish (required for zora area due to underwater bomb blocks) Finally you need 4 elemental echoes for various required puzzles, and at least 1 of them has to be an echo you can pick up to glide. Fire and ice are both necessary for lanayru mountain boss, electric is necessary for faron dungeon and a wind echo is required for gerudo sanctum.

You can actually do this without the 4th echo shard. You still have to beat Link and get both the regular bind and reverse bind abilities though. SwordFighter mode is required to deal damage to 2nd form Null and since you only have 3 shards, you can't use the left route to get to Null -> But with reverse bind you can actually clear the right section. You know what would be a cool follow-up? Max% Table only. See how many hearts, gear pieces, side quests, Tri level-ups, keys, might crystals, and stamps you can get with tables as your only echo. Wrong warping can allow you to reach more areas than just Null’s body, so it is possible to enter more dungeons in theory.

I mean, look -- I'm not about to get on your case for using swordfighter form; it is, as you said, _not_ an echo, so if the primary rule is "only table echo learned" then yeah -- by all means! ^-^ ...But I'd disagree that banning it makes _no_ sense. Depends on how closely you want to hew to the "only" of _only_ tables, and whether Link doing Link Things being foisted onto the beginning of Zelda's premier adventure is an inherently Different Thing from Zelda doing Zelda Things. :B

Its both really kool and a little underwhelming that the final count is one cause you skip everything. I gave up on this challenge myself after realising i need the stupid mole in gerudo. Its still really impressive and much better than a hypothetical glitchless minimum echoes. It really sucks that the game requires the most niche, specific echoes just to do one thing it really makes the runs potentially so boring :(

This is the first time I see anyone rip off fake link's shield or push tables. Is the game really explained that poorly?.. As if the menu for echoes isn't bad enough.

It's not. They literally teach you to pull off a shield from a statue for the door puzzle to the FIRST Fake Link boss fight. I saw FLink take his shield out and immediately yanked it off. People are simply not paying attention, especially not speed runners. Also the lack of curiosity doesnt help either. I'm shocked by how many people saw Null's stringy arms and didn't go, "I wonder if I can pull that?". Or how so many people missed the fact that you can dive bomb through Colgera's weak spot despite the game teaching you that mechanic countless time on your way to the dungeon in Tears of Kingdom
