I Beat Terraria Ranged Class Without any Guns or Bows (Master Mode)

In this challenge I did something a little ridiculous. I played Master Mode Terraria as the ranged class (ranger), but I didn't use anything that is classified as a "gun", "bow" or "repeater" on the wiki. I also didn't use it if it had "gun", "bow" or "repeater" in it's name, and if it used either arrows or bullets as ammunition. Is it possible? Can we defeat the Moon Lord with this challenge?

THE HARPOON IS NOT CALLED THE "HARPOON GUN". I did state this in the video, but in no way is the "Harpoon" considered a gun. I just misspoke and said harpoon gun and thought that was funny. Also I'm getting a lot of questions about the blowpipe/blowgun/dart pistol/dart rifle. These weapons are somehow considered "guns" on the official and Fandom wiki, so I didn't allow them. Probably would've made the challenge too easy too. Also people are asking about how a lucky horseshoe was found in an underground chest; for a time, lucky horseshoes were switched out with fledgling wings in sky chests, and lucky horseshoes were put in underground golden chests. They quickly changed it back, though.

Game considers anything that is not ammo, but CONSUMES ammo as a gun, as in a shurikan is technically ammo, but because you don't use another weapon to fire shurikan, it isn't a gun. But, blow darts are considered guns

How the Frost/Pumpkin Moon loot drops work is that the bosses have a lowered chance to drop their loot earlier on in the waves. By wave 20 they have a 100% chance to drop stuff, but on the waves the first spawn, they have a decent chance to drop nothing.

@@CJDEATHBOT I do have some other challenge suggestions as well, one’s I’ve been doing. Accessories only, you can only use accessories to do damage. ( Pretty much have to play on expert ) Npc loot only. Not just weapons, but armors and accessories too. Abigail’s flower only, no whips or anything, only Abigail.

Ironically when I went either a ranged or magic playthrough, I was praying to get Adamantite since I thought the set bonus of Titanium was useless, and I wanted the bonus stats of Adamantite. Not in either playthrough did I get Adamantite.

I wish there were more launchers before plantera. That way you can do a launcher class without only using star cannon until plantera. And even when you get past plantera your options aren’t amazing. The best is snowman cannon until you get the celebration. The stinger is good and the rocket launcher is ok.

Yeah it means not many people use launchers because they’ve gone the whole playthrough without them so switching to launchers after plantera is a little out of place. I wish there were more for sure

As someone who has only ever uses the Grenade Launcher, Rocket launcher, Proximity Mine Launcher, Snowman Cannon and Elf Melter once I beat Plantera, I absolutely agree

@@vikavolt11 maybe a good prehardmode addition would be like, a series of demoltionist launchers? as in, a launcher that can use any grenades, an upgraded version that can use grenades or bombs, and an upgraded version that can use grenades, bombs, or dynamite? that seems like a somewhat fitting addition, IMO.

Just a reminder kids, you can get both evil types in hardmode by buying the opposite evil seeds from the Dryad in a graveyard biome. You can then just plant the seeds on grass next to stone to get evil blocks. Use that to make fishing ponds for both evil biomes so you can get all the Ichor and Cursed Flame you need!

i won't lie, harpoon does actually have decent dps early game if you can hit shots and get close to enemies, the problem is melee is the exact same concept but with even more damage and defense

Keep up the good content man, and a little tips for goblin army : Farm for the goblin battle standard if you wanna spawn goblin invasion, and farm for the BoC or EoW spawn. Goblin army only spawn if the orbs are broken. Unless you need the orb drops then you just gonna face it ig...

I used the harpoon gunnon my first playthrough in 1.3. it was busted. If you hit with a good modifier, it does a really good single target damage, which helped me destroy normal mode eoc

I geues you already been told this, but the plantera not spawning isnt because of the bomb, its because the bulb only spawns plantera if the player is within a certain radius from it, to prevent Queen bee spawner breaking from the other side of the world situations.
