He came to abolish the Works of the devil and save us sinners from the wrath of God that is to come (Judgment Day) and the Hell we so deserve. He gave himself up for us so we could be reconciled back to God, gave us the right to be called Children of God (to whoever come to the knowledge of Him and receive him). Conquered Death and offers us Eternal life in Him , through him and by him alone are we saved😭. How great was and is his love to save wretched people like us. I wasn’t sure how to answer the question due to not understanding how it related to my comment. So I apologize for answering a question with a question and or may be seeming a bit forceful about it. I didn’t understand how your question related to my comment. But if it’s just your question by itself, my answer to your specific question is this: No. Slavery was normal back then when the Bible/scriptures were written-plus, the time this happened in accordance to biblical history, means that it was technically before Christianity came about. Many people had slaves, not just Christians. Also, my opinion, is that it-the whole portion around that verse Luke‬ ‭12:35-48‬ ‭(NIV‬‬)-was most likely saying, that to servants and slaves, it is a good thing to be ready and do what they know they should do, and thus, that the disciples, in the same way, should also be prepared and ready to serve God. Jesus most likely used servants and slaves in this illustration because back then that was one of the most commonly well known ways people knew to relate to any kind of service done for others. So, Jesus using that helped the people back then understand what it meant to serve God, and that one should, no matter what or when, should be prepared to serve God. That’s my opinion on the entire portion of Luke 12. These kinds of verses are ones that most likely not be taken out of context because it can completely change what the original meaning could’ve been, causing confusion. In the same way, I do apologize for the confusion and hopes this clears it up some despite the confusion.
