I bought 100 vintage dresses

I've been buying / selling vintage clothing for a few years now. You just don't know what other people are going to like. If its vintage, just sell it with the same love and attention as a piece you LOVE. I was at a collectible fair yesterday and sold some items that I thought were boring and I almost didn't take them. The buyers LOVED them and paid good money for them. Vintage is Vintage. And Vintage is FANTASTIC.

I’m 15 and I don’t understand how someone can count the 90s could even be thought of as retro, let alone vintage. 80s makes more sense as it is more outdated but to me vintage will always be 70s back.

Me too. I was a kid in the 90’s. I remember watching movies like Casper and the Titanic when they came out in the movie theaters. And getting excited when they came out in VHS. Lol 😂 😭.

IF you're interested in more vintage clothing check out Alexander Archbold's channel Curiosity Incorporated out of Canada. Alex just bought a hoarder house and in it were clothes from the 50s 60s and 70s both mens and Womens and he's already cleaned them and they are all priced at $10 Canadian.

An easy way to show true sizing is to add in measurements for the dresses! Even if the dresses aren't your size just seeing them on a person is great, but I would add in bust, waist, and hip measurements for the dresses so that people can measure themselves and see if they would fit :) I was checking out your shop to see what some of the other dresses looked like, but realized I wouldn't be able to buy any without those listed.

I buy most if my vintage on Depop (There were 2 reasonably priced vintage stores near me that sell dresses but one had a structural fire during renovations and is still closed) and inch measurements are best. I know my measurements by heart now and I'm starting to work out my size in several brands for the 1970s and 80s

Having 80's and 90's be considered Vintage just hurts my soul! No no no. They're not that old yet. Those styles haven't been gone long enough to warrant a "come back". I never thought I would feel so old so soon. I'm only 34! LOL!

@@EliseBuch look for adjustable body forms they're great for seamstresses and you can adjust the size according to each piece, nice thing is to save space you can just get one and adjust the mannequin. I also wanted to say how happy I am to see your shop grow into something so sweet and beautiful. Your hardwork is definitely paying off.

A great way to “pay” models is to offer them a certain amount of store credit! That way you aren’t paying in cash, but they get something out of it! Plus, they you know what you paid for the items, so you are only like taking an “at cost” loss! Especially when it comes to hair care, accessories & home decor you have thrifted!

The denim thingy. 😉 The dresses made me think back to my school days when I had a phase when I liked to wear vintage clothes and it mortified my mother. I was retro-ing the 60's with long maxi skirts that we're wildly colorful and I used to love the blouses with the big poofy sleeves and the long cuffs at the wrist.

congrats with the 5 years! that's so cool. I would find a model that is a size L or XL - one that has their own small business (and can send you a bill of what you agree on) or one that would be paid by the hour all incl. Ask your accountant ;) ... The clothes will sell better when photoed on a person. I would try to batch the photo sessions with the model - as many outfits or styles as you could photo in 2-4 hours :)

In the UK we have Kilo sales which are usually priced at £12 (About $16) a kilo. The bonus us that all the clothes are clean and hung up/folded to show them off rather than having to dig through the bins. Shows are equally priced by pair (usually £12-15 or $16-20) but they're largely vintage trainers, converse and Docs or other desirable show types. They're ticketed events, but generally worth it, and early bird tickets oven contain the first kilo at a cut price

Happy 5th anniversary! Fantastic selection of dresses. You can wear anything and make it look even better! You should get prescription lenses put in those glasses frames you are wearing. It would be good to have another pair of glasses in case you damage or lose your existing lovely prescription glasses or if you simply want a different look and see clearly.
