I don’t understand these units. Why not just buy a rear view mirror, then you can spend some money on a far better light, or a couple of lights so you have one spare if your battery goes. Gadgets have the risk of going wrong, a mirror is a much safer bet in terms of safety.

It an extra gear of safety since you're not looking at your mirror 24/7. I only use mirrors when I am about to change lanes. I never look at it just to see if there's a car coming. The radar does just that. You can argue that you can hear cars but i usually listen to music with noise cancelling when im out and about so hearing cars would be limited on my part so this device works for me.

This is one of those products that you won’t understand unless you’ve used it. It doesn’t replace visually checking for cars but gives you situational awareness.
