it's like that at Bridlington motor auctions that is family run for over 50 years and unlike some auctions you can get the keys and have a good check inside and out and start them up

If it’s had its belt done although it’s got no history who ever owned it knew about the wet belt issue you can almost guarantee it’s been looked after! And wet belts are only an issue if you don’t service them properly (genuine oil is a must) my ecoboost focus I ran up until 180k with no issues then I part exchanged it still see it driving around and I part exchanged it 3 years ago!

@@philmoffett366 correct, I said to the buyer that belt change means more than Full Service History to me. And of course I did service it with genuine oil

I allways spray that on my subframes every 2 years. I did it when I bought the car when there was no surface rust. No signs of it anywhere and the car is 7 years old now

@@TroyGoodacre sounds good, I'd do the same. Sadly these cars are a bit older so usually exposed to the elements a bit more so already have signs of rust. All I can do is give them a good wire brush and try and prevent them rotting

Echo Boom. Wet belt breaks up and blocks the oil filter

@@peteclarke5750 correct, it's the oil strainer it blocks too which starves it of oil. Couldn't believe my luck when I noticed that sticker!

@@sidehustlereliance hi mate I do sometimes. Rare I buy them from marketplace etc as so many traders up here trying to get there first! If I do it's often word of mouth or previous customers etc

Lately there seems to be massive influx of bidders ready to pay stupid money for cars at auctions. VW group and toyotas are the worst for this, whenever i've put a few cheeky bids on those, i just get blown away and they sell for unreal price.

@@bigbeare6017 certain VW and Japanese cars the Asian communities love them so hard to buy especially if you're in a highly populated Asian area. I find at BCA Brighouse and Leeds any Golfs or Toyota's I thought may go cheap never were, some auctioneers on BCA use the buyers name and quite often it was an Asian name. I'm just going to have to be brave and try and buy the stuff that struggles to try and maximise profit. It's tough!
