Honestly when you're talking about a bike that does a quarter mile in under 11 seconds vs one that does it in 10 does it really matter? I think it would be more dangerous if he'd gotten a liter bike, those are much more aggressive and more likely to pop a wheelie unexpectedly or highside when you overdo the throttle, a busa is about as quick but much more stable and predictable.

Hey Yammie, so with the lights. I’ve done this before and it is the single easiest and non sketch way to make them flash with music. All you need is a basic knowledge of wiring. Amazon a “12v micro/mini amp” you can find them for like $15-$20. Even if it has a 12v DC adapter plug, just cut the end off and wire it to your aux fuse line you’d install. It’ll be fine I promise. Instead of attaching the lights directing to the speaker and getting the flash ‘unfiltered’, meaning getting it to light up every time the voltage is increased on the speaker, which is what 99% of people do. Attach it to the micro amp. Then you can control whether the lights illuminate from the high vocals of Celine Dion, or from the kick drum of your favorite rock song. Or depending on how you ‘tune’ the amp, both! All about ultimate control. Anyways hope this peaks your interest and helps the busa project down the road!

@@bmxriderforlife1234 My 750lb had no touring gear - completely naked. No fairing, no bags, no tech, nothing. The majority of that weight is engine and frame. The thing with high performance is performance parts have weight. You'll *need* liquid cooling - if you get an Evo anywhere near 100HP it will start overheating even under light use (see 1275cc kit Yammie did on the Iron 800), reinforced internals (pistons, valves, cams, transmission) as well as more rubber are all significant weight gains. Aluminum isn't especially strong, hence why iron blocks prevailed for forced induction applications. The very engine design isn't conducive to high horsepower, being horsepower is essentially a function of torque and RPM. I don't doubt you can get a 600lb Harley, but if you legit think it's anywhere near 150HP, I got a bridge to sell ya.

I was a Busa Boi for a few years (no LED's though) and it honestly made me happy every time I rode it. The power is so tractable and it is amazingly nimble given its size. He bought a 2nd Gen Hayabusa, didn't like it after 6 months so then bought an unrestricted 1999 1st Gen model; six months after that he came to me and asked me if I'd like to sell the ZZ-R back to him for more than I paid - sorry said I.

Had a gen 2 busa for 6 years. Done every kind of riding on it, from autobahn to the tight twisty alps. Fantastic bike. Cant see any suitable replacement. Fix yours and actually go do some proper riding on it. Subscribed.

i love the Busa....and ive ridden a zx14 and zx14r since 2006! They maybe a meme bike but they are fantastic. My wife drives a black Mazda 3. Covered in dust. Texas looks like West Australia, The motor is the best. The big 4 motors are like an electric motor yet easy to go at any revs, I am addicted to my zx14r....1450 cc of latent torque. No sensation of speed until you get to 120mph. No dramatics in the handling, just float and point with the pull of a truck from the back wheel....even at idle the bike creeps forward. I actually have more throttle control in low power mode, a fraction of an inch becomes an inch. Great love Busa. Japan engineers are awesome to have given us such liberating transport!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
