What I found so funny is that Ed said Kimmy wanted $75,000 and he offered her $30,000. But Kimmy was a shrewd negotiator so they agreed to meet right in the middle at $30,000, which is not in the middle of $75,000 and is exactly the amount of Ed's original offer. Cause he was willing to take a very very suspect loan application to his finance manager. What does that say about his sense of ethics. As well as the fact that he was willing to profiteer on a busted prostitute. Sorry, but that's just one step worse, frankly, than the carpet baggers who showed up at the internment processing centers in WW2 to snap up Japanese American's lands and possession on the cheap. Yes, the car was an unknown quantity. But that wasn't what kept it from being marketable. It was the owners lack of capital and circumstances. And frankly the story about selling the key (which probably goes for 5x what he paid for it) to her for $100 on her birthday shows just how much of a dick head Ed. is. Kimmy was clearly broke. Not that $500 would have done her any more good than $100, but all the same, Ed's attitude sucks. Kimmy had no legal right to use that key, but she had all the right in the world to possess it as a memento of better days, etc. ... unless of course Mr. Used Car dealer had included in the contract that she would deliver the 2nd key within 30 days (which he probably did, or he wouldn't have kept harassing her over it... he would have just gone out and gotten 2 new keys and de-programmed the old keys!)

Savage Ed! Savage! "She was a fan of my large albino snake!" This story has me folded in two! I have a story of my own but not exactly the same. We once took in a 2012 BMW X5 Mapple Brown with Tan Leather on a trade-in in late spring of 2016. The owner made it a thing to smoke his cigars in the car... every s i n g l e day of the year. We tried everything under the sun to remove the stench. From the standard "new car sent" spray to smoke-bombs, Ozone machine, Chroline Concentrate (PH based),citrus peel to scrubbing the headliner... the smell would not go away. The smell would almost be "gone" until a sunny day would come along and reactivate the cigar particles that were lodged inside the fiber of the headliner and carpets of the vehicle. This was becoming a problem. On top of that, I had a few customers that were very much interested in said car because it was a different color than Black, White or Silver, had the optional 20 inch sport mags and had very low Kilometers for it's year. Even the mechanics were surprised to see that the X5 was mechanically very well kept. The previous owner had gave us all the servicing bills and kept his truck A1. A few weeks had passed and the story was that we were going to have to take a big loss on this car on the account of a smell. We were even considering ordering a new headliner. One day at about 3PM, I get a call from a customer and asks to see the car. He said that he was 5 minutes away and that he needed the car rush. I greeted him 6 minutes later and he seemed very happy to see the car. "Exactly like I was imagining it!" I must of made a face, because he paused and said: "Is there something that I should know?!" I grabbed the keys and a dealer plate and said, here, let us go for a spin. I talked about the great mechanical condition of the car, clean Carfax the works. This day was mostly overcast, but there had been some sun up until noon or so. Unbeknown to me, detailing had brought back the car in earlier and sprayed a concoction of products to improve the smell once again. I was unaware of this until...I opened the driver door. The customer steps back and states: "It smells like a hooker in here!" And he is off laughing his mind off. "Deeds, I cannot drive this car! My wife will think that I am having an affair!" We laughed it off but he still insisted on driving the vehicle. My customer fell in love with the look, drive and feel of the car. Sadly, he had too pass as the "hooker smell" went away, the cigar smell came back with a vengeance. "Deeds, I have 2 kids! If I come back home with this car, she will divorce me and take the kids! You were a good sport, but I have to pass on this one!" Weeks turned into months and finally, we sold the vehicle to a young father that had 2 young children. Not sure if he had nose issues, but he was in and out the same day. And that is the story of our "prostitute smell" BMW X5 Smell.
