Black color is cool, but invisible at night. Be seen is key. Hi Doc, where in Texas do you hail?. My uncle was in El Paso, and my sister lived in Austin I miss Texas,and I miss Cebu. You have a nice easy going relaxed style and a nice travelogue I appreciate your efforts. May god bless you, always. Be aware of potholes at night, wild dogs and crazy lane changers. Most accidents come from 11 o'clock positions and left turns. Have a 1000 pesos handy,for fines,or accidents. Wear a reflecting 🦺 vest, and strobe red light 🚨 elbow pads and ⛑️ helmet. Carry a spare tube air pump,and small tool kit. If you have to slide, away from the muffler, and roll if get tossed, covering your head. Watch carefully, right after rain for oil slicks, and loose gravel around curves. Leave a large car length distance,in front even in stopped 🚦 traffic, lots of folks don't see you at least you won't get pushed or crushed into the front vehicle. You will be fine, because God will be your copilot. Stay safe,on "The Black Gold Ghost"🤠😎 Amigo . 🙏

I bought a Sniper 155. Same engine as the NMAX, but with normal (17") sized wheels and a 6 speed manual gear change. Personal preference. I just like to be in charge of my own gear changes. It's perfect for zipping in, and out, of the city. I've also joined the local owners club, who organise longer rides out about once a month.
@47342912 жыл бұрын
Sniper 155 engine is not the same with NMAX.
@mickstafford4562 жыл бұрын
@@4734291 Fairly certain all the Yamaha 155cc bikes and scoots use the same engine. A slightly different state of tune (possibly down to the ECU). But they are all 155cc, 4 stroke, water cooled, SOHC engines. It makes no sense for Yamaha, financially, to develop multiple engines in the same configuration. Far simpler, and considerably less expensive in R&D, to use the same engine, and tweak the gearing and ECU mapping.

Same engine but different clutch dry vs wet. Different drive chain vs belt. Different ratios. Saying the same engine in this case would only be good for parts not as an equivalent ride as you are making it seem.

I thought tricycle liked cool and I bought one of those also. Big mistake they do not handle liked a side car on a bike from the Us Sold that and wanted to buy a truck Here in Palawan there is basically no used vehicles. Remember that if you venture out onto the expressway you are required to have 400cc or better on those roads . I personally would go with a Honda CB 500X if you can find one or a kawasaki versa 650 . If you just plan on toddling around the neighborhood then a scooter would be fine. I took the tvs 110 on a long trip from bongabon to dingalan over the Sierra madra mountains and it was pretty sketchy at times but it did it . Not the most comfortable thing I've been on and our kidneys paid the price for a couple of days afterwards.
@Roof_Pizza2 жыл бұрын
I've been bouncing around on what to buy and I think the best is 2 bikes, both Honda's (for me). A 'full sized' CB500X/Forsa 350 or similar as well as a Wave or similar. The wear and tear you save on the big bike would be enough to pay for the little scooter and you don't want or need a full sized bike in the city. A crash would most likely happen in the city as well so the little bike can be considered as disposable.
@gailmaplesden73802 жыл бұрын
@@Roof_Pizza it's not the bike but your body as I have found that having the power when you need it can get you out of situations where you could be in peril. Also the comfort of a big bike compared to a scooter is well worth the price especially on the beat up roads over there. I would not go smaller than a 250 for around town as passing those tricycles can be treacherous with oncoming traffic.

if you are unlucky it can take up to 3 months before you can get your registration papers. it all depends on your dealership and their LTO liaison. Some liaison are just plain lazy so some papers could take 4-5 months . the only way to make them move fast is let them know you will or have file a complaint form to DTI (Department of Trade and Industry) for R.A. 7394 Article 2 Section C, “Protection against deceptive, unfair, and unconscionable sales acts and practices.” or possible violation of the seven (7) day period to register subject vehicle by accredited MAIRDOEs pursuant to AO No. AVT 2014-023 of LTO) that is what i did to my dealer and gave them a copy of the form and email. and after 3 days i got my registration.

Unfortunately most of the people who die in traffic accidents are on under powered and overloaded scooters and tricycles. Perhaps it is easier to get around but because there are no rules a 300 pound motorcycle has no chance against a 3000 pound vehicle.

The thing that I found for me on the scooters is that the handle bars aren't wide enough for the width of my shoulders. The mirrors were completely ineffective for me as they were adjusted so far out that I couldn't see what was coming up behind me which with people passing on both sides is unexceptable and extremely dangerous. I guess you could put wide bars and extended cables and wiring but that would be an extreme hassle and letting one of these so called factory trained mechanics loose on your new bike is a recipe for disaster. The twist the wire together and electrical tape is the common practice and when you mention connectors or soldering they just look at you funny and proceed with mutilating your new bike . I had a throttle cable replaced on a 2020 tvs and they literally destroyed the wiring harness by pulling on the wires instead of the connectors. this was at wheeltec so don't let these idiots near your bike and if you have to replace something Google it and do it yourself . I now have to replace the headset wiring harness and the floor board because when they took it apart they forgot one of the main fastners and snapped the plastic. The two hundred pesos project has turned into a two thousand pesos project by the time i get done buying the parts and account for my time to replace all the damaged components.

Red lights mean nothing and giveway is a completely foreign concept. .Always wear a helmet. If some numbnut doesn't like wearing a helmet over there because they like paying fines and trying to show they are 'rich', or the local indicator of evident corruption, the world will simply be lighter one day when their number's up... Enjoy but be safe!

The scooter looks awesome when I get there I hope to get the same type of scooter. The safety-related thing I see and this is only based on other vloggers riding in some of the provinces at night would be the fact that it's all black which is nice. Not sure if a few bits of reflective tape or a white helmet would help. I've heard other vloggers complain about running up on other scooters not realizing they were there because they don't bother to replace or fix tail light issues, not sure if a working tag light is necessary in the Philippines.

I can relate to you Mate as I' also married a Filipina and have spent many times in PI/The Philippines! However, every Expat I know who went the 'motor-bike-route' eventually fell-off and injured themselves- some a lot! As I used to have a Honda 450 and then a Kawasaki 1000 its hard to relate to a Honda 100CC as part of defensive driving is to have the 'power' to quickly Get outa the way! I knew this newly arrived Gringo who bought a new Yahmaha 250 and as he was Bigger it better suited him until... A pig ran in front of him and he went over the handlebars! In PI, for the most part from what I've seen there isn't much of any REAL traffic Control and everyone drives the way they can- which is every which-way! Thereby I've been 'putting up with the Jeepney's and motor-taxi drivers and it works- but certainly is Not going in any style or real freedom of the road! Transportation overall in PI unless you go First Class can be 'rough' i.e. Cebu Pacific when it first came out was a nice airline- but then The Masses started using it, the company grew exponentially and the service soon became- a 'Jeepney in the Air'! I like PI a lot and having ones own transportation- "if' your living outside of any major urban area I'm sure is the Better way to go- just watch out for EVERYONE ELSE and the pigs (Never Beat the Roosters though- no matter where you go!)

You may want to meet up with Mike of Making It Happen Vlog who is now in Bicol but is driving through Samar and Leyte on his motorcycle to Siargao in Surigao del Norte. There are other foreign vloggers based in Siargao Island that you can then meet while you check out the surfing scene there.
