Really enjoy your videos. Recently I planned to add a new system besides sony, I considered Fuji mid frame camera. However, it is too big for me to carry all around. Instead I brought a Leica m10r, hope it can company me with most locations I will go to in the future. Photography is a hobby of mine, I cannot go to everywhere and enjoy every beautiful scene, cos I have job to do. Watching your video gives me a sense of actually I am there at the location and enjoy everything. That’s the main reason why I cannot leave without giving you a thumb up. Cheers

Your lighthouse image at 4:20 is really nice. Makes me want to explore the details. And nature as it is, in all its chaotic nuances, which in terms is just perfect. Definitely something to hang on a wall.

What a difference a storm makes, really goes to show how even the same local locations can produce different results and its well worth visiting again and again, landscapes are never static and it's all about the conditions. Loved the colour and texture of that rock in the last image 👌

Thanks Thomas - you have the right machine to home in on those details like the frame filling rock you shot last. The camera's capability makes you seek and see those opportunities more often than perhaps something of lower resolution would because of the textural image capture you can attain. Great shot!

I really like the rock patterns photo: contrast not only in luminosity but also in color temperature; if I were to point to something on the negative side, it would be the heavy highlight spill at the bottom right; it could be remedied by some burning, but you are the artist and that’s your vision...Thanks for all the inspiration and motivation you have given me and others throughout these years!

Hi Thomas, great video from the east coast. To see the geological successions revealed after the storms was brilliant. The wave ripples on the sandstone and the smooth, dark shale below, a lot of potential for some black an white images of the varying shapes and textures that have been revealed. Nice one Thomas.

Thomas, if you haven't tested it out yet, test out the "focus bracketing" capability for shots like the last one (and possibly for some near-far broad landscapes as well). Fuji calls it "focus bracketing", but it is really focus stacking. It will make a shot like the last one easier to accomplish, and it will be sharper overall since f16 is beyond the point where diffraction has begun to impact the image. You could probably shoot that last image at f5.6 or f8 and three or so shots and have a considerably sharper end result. Not that sharpness is everything, but it is easy to do on a shot like that and the added sharpness allows you more flexibility with the image later...

@JohnKrill3 жыл бұрын
That rock you shot at about 8+minutes into the video will be in an entirely different location after the next big storm. Always fun to shoot after a storm clears out all the sand. Beware it doesn't take long for the sand to return. So don't delay getting all those abstract photos that the beach now presents.

Thomas, if you join the “Fujifilm GFX” group on Facebook you could find good deals on used lenses, even in the UK. Also, you might enjoy the photos there, there are a lot of pros like yourself. At least the 32-64mm is on sale right now. If it is in the budget, the 45-100mm is also on sale and it has OIS which would help with your jump-out-of-the-van handheld shots. I have one for my 50R and it’s a bit of a game changer for street and hiking; it weighs less than the primes i would have to bring. Even with the excellent IBIS in the Fujifilm GFX 100s (which I’ll be getting in the summer), it’s good to have the stabilization in the lens for the longer focal lengths.

I've shot with a GFX50R for 3 years now - with the 23, 32-64 and a recent addition of the 100-200. There is the 45-100 also available which would fill that gap.

Would be interested in how you manage sensor contamination when changing lenses. Currently do all I can with 1 lens ( 32 - 64 )
@duringthemeanwhilst3 жыл бұрын
@@cb9831 just common sense precautions really - always turn the camera off, face down, out of the wind and never in a dusty, windy or wet environment if you can help it. I also get the lens I'm putting on as ready as I can - so rear cap off, facing the right way, line up the dots as quickly as possible.
