The nice thing about these videos is that the normal working man can recognize themselves in them. You buy the cars that we all secretly want to buy, but often don't dare to take the risk. I've been following you since the Z4 and these videos about (older) cars remain the most fun and appealing. Greetings from the Netherlands (Oh and ofcourse I like the Porsche)

Less complicated parts te break or replace, cheaper maintenance bills long term. Lovely car, but just love the facelift more because of the headlights.

Looks awesome mate, I think it’s any car enthusiasts dream to have a car with a Porsche badge on the bonnet😎 It looks like you’ve got a great example there, I think silver suits the Cayenne, it’s a classy colour, for a classy car. I’ve had silver cars for the last 10 years, they look lovely in the summer time when cleaned and polished up, and in the winter time they hide the dirt well! And any scratches etc are invisible unless you get close up. If the garage health check goes well, I would look at sorting the things like the rear wiper etc, and get a full detail done on it, those scratches at the top of the doors will polish out, and get the wheels refurbed, I saw a few bits of damage. Overall cracking car that looks the part, sounds the part, and as a bonus it’s practical aswell. Hopefully you have good luck with this car, from what I can see, and what you’ve said, everything is pointing towards it being a good example 👍🏻

I think you can really modernise a car with a few little touches. I had an 09 golf having stepped down from a brand new lease Astra and the aftermarket head unit with CarPlay just didn’t make it seem like it was a much older car (although it was). I've always thought replacement infotainment units are a good idea. Sure, cheap ones can be hot garbage, but a decent one can give a car from the 00's/10's all the mod-cons you find in a brand new car. And it's relative easy to find model-specific ones. I generally think car design peaked in that 15 year period in terms of styling and so being able to add that modern convenience is just a win all round. And sometimes that common colour/engine combo you'd normally avoid can be the most novel one to buy. And a basic, well maintained car is going to be more enjoyable than a more special version that's got tons of deferred and late maintenance, so hopefully the Cayenne will scratch that itch nicely for you.

Owned a 2004 Cayenne S for 10 years and purchased in 2012 for $10,000 in the 10 years of ownership I spent $ 14,000 in repairs and put approximately 96,000 miles on it and had 145,000 miles on the clock. You will have to replace the gas struts for the rear gate every 3 years, the drive shaft will need to be repaired every 60,000 miles - headlights also a problem. Water pump and valve cover gaskets everything seems to go after 10 to 12 years. Not bad to work on would advise getting a Durametric diagnostic unit if you plan on doing all your own repairs. Loved the vehicle just not the parts cost.

They aren't struts on the Cayenne and the damped hinges are quite pricey and labour intensive to replace, so people tend to just live with it or carry round a stick of wood (Last resort). No Air suspension is a good thing as its less to go wrong. Don't be surprised if they have bypassed the Bose system all together.
@Billythebubble10 ай бұрын
I love it! Get that handbrake fixed, every time you use park as a brake you are damaging your transmission. Also, hard ride contributed by 20” wheels and lack of tyre taking absorption. Air suspension costs a fortune to fix and bursts airbags or blows compressors.

Ok. So you’ve bought a Cayenne. Good start but you definitely should have gone for a V8. As late a year as possible (06 I think) as it would have had loads more options. I had an early V8 a few years ago and loved it. Things to watch for- wet front carpets which will be blocked drains behind the wheel arch liners. Propshaft centre bearing. Feeble air vents on the dash and rear console. Window regulators. The mpg will always be circa 18-20mpg in the V6 whereas my V8 would never go over 14mpg. I daily drive an E53 V8 which is fully loaded and I often search for another Cayenne to have as well but they are tricky to find with all the same gadgets. Look forward to the future vlogs though.
