Ive got the tanto blade and a few of the others. Nice for beater knives, but im going to treat my orange d2 like a Bugout cuz it took me 6 months to finally get one! The tanto blade has by far the best action of any of my $50+ knives! Soooooo buttery smooth!

Used the black handled fixed blade at 5:24 to gut a deer about 2 weeks ago. Other than being a little slick in the hand, it performed very well. Especially with the drop point blade. I had my Case Ridgeback Hunter for skinning, but it has a fairly upswept tip, and I didn’t want to poke the guts. The only thing I might do as a mod the next time I have the dremel out is add some light jimping to the top of the knife, and maybe some where your index finger sits for added traction.

I have both the first and third (orange and blue) knives. The lock on my blue aluminum handle does lock the knife in either the open or closed position.

The blue aluminum one, the Stainless steel frame lock, the green tanto, and the large fixed blade are probably the best buys here. I've bough a few, probably not worth buying any more now lol

I have the grey titanium stainless steel. I technically edc it but it's in my toolbox for work. I like it's heft, makes me feel confident in what I'm doing with it.

I have been EDC'ing the green / black tanto 4:20 for 3+ weeks. I am not a warehouse worker, but my job does require me to unload international wood pallets and boxes 1-2 times a week. No issues at all in this light-moderate duty use. Its smaller and slimmer than the orange Dropout (which I also own 3 of). Perfect for inner hip / waistband conceal or side pocket carry. Its not D2 and is tip down carry only, but neither is a big deal to me. I can get it razor sharp in 5~6 minutes on ceramic rods and a green compound strop. It also has a ball bearing pivot and a strong ball detent. This makes for a FAST snappy thumb stud deployment. The bearings are smoother rotating than any of my orange dropouts too, but that could just be manufacturing variation and luck of the draw. If any of you can't get the orange dropout at your local store, look for the green / black tanto instead.

The green one is exceptionally smooth.

@@MNWoodland yep... I find this to be the case too. The interesting thing about the green BB tanto is it released about ~2 months before the orange dropout. They sold out fast, within ~3 weeks, and I decided to pick up the last one on the shelf. But there has been no YT / internet hype for it. Not sure how or where the word is getting around about it.

That first black fixed is dope. Those clips pop off (on some) making it easy to pocket carry or even neck carry. I have some wood handled fixed blade and some faux bone handle but I really like them.
@MNWoodland3 ай бұрын
Yeah the clips do pop off. Pocket carry is probably the way to go.

There’s another OT folder. It’s black aluminum handle with a black serrated blade. Liner lock. It’s my favorite of the ones you reviewed here.

Thanks for the review! I only bought the oorange D2 and green folding tanto. They are plenty for all my needs. I flip them a lot. Smooth actions for sure. Ill never buy an expensive knife again. I actually gave away all my other knives. Can only carry one at a time. Glad to be rid of them.

@@Ninjaverification I cut a giant spider ( orb weaver ) in half with tanto. Was horrifying! But I tried turning it lose first. Then it made a massive web across the front door. I had to go to work. It was dark and I was pissed. Tanto for the win. TMI, I know. Lol

The steel that it's made of is weird , it sharpens easily and dulls easily at the same time , I shapren with the worksharp sharpener that's has the ceramic pole and metal sharpener plates and strop , I love it but it sharpens the knife very well and after some regular usage back dull

@@MNWoodland That’s a cover up. Check a map, the Ozark’s are in America. They don’t want anyone getting suspicious about where all the dogs are going. That’s why they “say” there made in China, cause there made out of dogs. American dogs, patriotic dogs. That’s how they keep the prices so low. Don’t let your dogs out. There making them into knives.
