I *bought* an UP GTI... A road legal GOKART! - Collecting My New Car

Today I picked by my new Up GTI from my local Volkswagen dealership and brought my camera along to capture the collection process. Watch this video to see me signing the papers for my 'approved used' Up GTI and driving it home.

@@mattdrives wow thanks! You can’t really go wrong with an up gti i think. Are you planning on modding it? I once saw an up with 180 hp and it had a faster 100-200 km/h time than my 285 hp gte, how insane is that🤣🤣

That’s crazy! I intend on a few minor cosmetic mods at the start and would love a new exhaust on the car. Modding the engine may come in time, I still have warranty so might need to navigate carefully on that 🤣

Manual. Up GTIs weren’t sold in auto. But if they had the auto from the Polo GTI, it would be bangin’

I used to own a 2019 Polo GTI and I would highly recommend it. Even more so than an Up GTI because of the ‘real’ exhaust and faster acceleration.

I wanted a car easy on fuel, insurance and running costs that was still fun to drive and that I could mess about with. It’s not the fastest or most advanced car but it does everything I need AND it makes me smile every time I drive it. I have just as much fun with this as I did with my old Audi or Polo GTI. Suppose it depends what you’re looking for 🙂

@@mattdrives yeah its fun to drive. im swaying between this and a hyundai i10n. hyundai i10 with the up gti engine would be the best.

The i10n looks amazing and the tech inside beats the Up GTI, for sure. Your point about performance is spot on though. I think anything less than the Up GTI would feel underpowered. Not 100% certain, but I also think the Up GTI will benefit from higher residual value too. But it really depends what you’re looking from your car.
