congratz! i have been on the "list" for about two years to get a 124060 submariner for my 50th birthday coming up in february. i check in more often as this is what the AD said i should do as the time draws closer. it all seems very silly to me, but i willl play along as i dont want to chance not getting the call!

I registered my interest in a date just at the AD in Sewickley last month.. just wanted to see if you have any advise regarding what effort I should put in to get the watch-- visit the AD monthly? email them just for follow up? any tips appreciated.. @@tavankitsingh I've been to the Sewickley AD. They're pretty nice. I would just drop by every other month and let them know you're seriously interested in the watch. I think you'll get the call for a Datejust within a few months

Is there any tricks to get a rolex for the first time

There are no tricks as such. It helps if you can build a relationship with your Authorised Dealer. Show that you're genuinely interested in the watch, be friendly and polite. Visit them every couple of months and let them know you're still interested in it. Usually it won't be that hard to get a Date just as a first Rolex. The sports watches can be a bit harder to get.

It also helps if you have a special occasion like a big birthday, promotion or wedding coming up.

Congrats beta. I picked up my first GMT from the AD window (here in UK) whilst I was walking past in March of this year (steel and yellow gold on Jubilee). But they gave it to me fully stickered and I still haven't taken off the clasp stickers because I know what a scratch magnet it is!
