Hoovie, in his early 30s, living in a literal mansion, with a cathedral for a garage, that is full of six-figure cars that no longer excite him: "I'll never have a million dollars."

Actually I think it was “I’ll *probably* never have a million dollars”! Sadly the “probably” really is superfluous for me...

@@nickamalfitano3613 As much as hoovie likes to play dumb, he is a family man, and, I am sure, smarter than he likes to let on (it's counter to his image as the "dumbest youtube car channel"). My guess is he keeps a reasonable amount of cash on hand as a cushion, and probably knows his way around the markets (or, at least, knows savvy investors that are setting him up nicely).

with the last statements in this video, Hoovie touched on some of my feelings about the channel.... buying 6 figure cars was never what drew me to the channel and now I find myself skimming the videos just to get thru it to basically feel like I'm keeping up with what's going on but not really watching the whole thing like I used to. It was the real hoopties that he would buy. The everyday car (that most could easily afford) that he seemed to point out really cool features about it, which in turn, if you read the comments, it inspired the other sub's to either look for one similar for themselves or found it to be a cooler car than they'd thought. I hope to see the channel turn and embrace the original theme a lot more. To be honest, I tend to lean towards Watch JRGo's channel a bit more due to his more down to earth spending and choice of cars. With that said though, thanks again Tyler for the entertainment. It is appreciated.

I agree. I knew I wasn't the only guy skimming through the super cars videos. Yawn. I recently subscribed to watchjrgo when he bought the 67 camaro RS. That is what I want to watch. Other great channels are coldwarmotors, johnathan W, Mustie1, thecorvetteben, fuzzy dice projects, vice grip garage, Dylan McCool. Thanks for the memories Hoovie, it was a nice run. I hope you come back down to earth soon so I can enjoy your videos again.

Look at Tavarish... same thing, I watch even less of that channel because it's not actually stuff you can do in your garage. The orange clapped out Lamborghini I like but because it was such a basket case when he bought it.

I understand why you think like that, but some viewers like me watch hoovie for him, the commentary, dialogue with wizard, etc. The one fact that I don't understand is that he said some time ago that the more crappy the car is the more views he gets. Like the bentley or m5. Yet he still buys cars that are over 100 k. Maybe because he got alot more subscribers. Anyway, I like his videos and I will keep watching. Hope he will make videos which everyone can enjoy
@stephenb8353
@stephenb8353 4 жыл бұрын
Agreed; I've enjoyed his stuff like the Imperial, the Woodie, Delorean, Volvo art car, etc. I'm sure it's great driving a Lambo, but hell, its boring viewing, and don't talk to me about Car Trek. I guess everything has an arc ( wonder of Doug is going the same way, hence his auction site). Hoovie seems like a nice guy, I hope he works it out for his channel.

A friend of mine had one. He actually returned it under Lemon Law provisions. It was nothing but trouble. Last straw was when he was on the highway the air suspension failed, and when the flatbed came to get it, the angle of the lift bed was enough to trigger the door release. Literally blew the doors off while sitting still. He said he and the driver heard a bang and then the doors just fell off onto the ground.

There are too many other people on youtube doing that now. In order to stand out, hes switched to much more rare and expensive pieces of crap to throw money away on. Im sure hes traded up over the years of doing this, so between what he sells the sorted cars for and the income from KZbin, he comes out ahead. Besides, you can only watch him fix up a $300 jeep so many times before viewers lose interest. Kind of like BMW projects. You already know whats going to happen.

The SLS AMG is Thanos. Buying this car was inevitable. Hoovie, your channel is a great escape from what’s going on in the world. I can’t relate to the expensive cars, but your adventures into automotive stupidity are fun to watch. Growing up in the automotive business and having my own career at the factory level made me feel rather blaze about cars for the most part. Meh, they’ll all get you to where you need to go... But the oddball car with unique features (thinking of the Previa for example) intrigues me. I never gave some vehicles a second thought, let alone the first, but seeing them through your eyes (along with some dumb Hoovie fun) is a blast! Keep up the good work and I’ll keep tuning in. 👍🏻

The numbness of living out a dream is understandable. I did that with some jobs and life experiences in the past. I've never been able to do it with cars like ive always wanted,and some injuries and other issues keep me from solid work now to facilitate that ,but it is what it is. Personally this is the way I feel. Don't feel bad Hoovie. Yes the economy is a four letter word right now and people are struggling but I like watching your videos. It never gets old for me because I don't have any of these cars. There is no pinnacle. There is always something special you can share with us around the corner. And doesn't have to be a six figure car. It can be a $100 piece. Also without going too in depth I really have a hard time with charity videos. They usually feel too contrived. Honestly when is the last time you saw James Bond saving puppies? Nah he drove undeniably shitty but beautiful cars that were usually more satisfying on a poster than they were to drive. I do get what you mean about charity but I hope you won't stray too far from the hoopties. Love the random finds and hope you find more. Don't care about supercars that much. "Explosive bolts in the doors, so if you roll over you can still go outside" Hmmm... That's why Hammond doesn't drive it?

You say "when this car flips over" like it's an inevitability.

Actually Mercedes fits explosives into the door fasteners that will detonate if the car flips. They have thought of everything

I saw this upload a few days ago and refused to watch it at first because this is the first car that Mr. Hoovie has had on the channel that is truly a dream car for me... I have literally 100s of models, posters. brochures, even Race panels and my prized posseion of my AMG collection a single SLS Black rim mounted on my lounge wall. Well done Mr. Hoovie on all your hard work and effort it's paying off and thanks for all the entertainment... especially in 2020... I'm Australian and we started our year with devisating fires and I've been in isoloation for nearly 6 months.

I’ll never get bored of you buying cars, I love it! Since I’ve started watching your channel I’ve bought 3 extra cars much to my wife’s dismay 😆

Hoovie should pivot and start doing a modern day “pimp my ride” that’s more legit and helpful to the “pimping” car owners than the original MTV series was. Maybe it’s just “Hoovie My Ride” and they take cars to the car wizard get the high level overview and then fix it up and detail it. Mr. Beast has proven that you can make $$ and get an audience by being a little nuts and showing compassion/empathy towards others.

My wife thinks the series should be called “Imprhoovie My Ride” or maybe car vs ride just to keep the legality of it safe...

The idea sounds cool, but “Hoovie My Ride” sounds like transforming a good car into a hooptie. However I am unable to come up with a much better name.

Kai Hoovie my ride sounds good. Plus, I think that name for a tv show has been copyrighted, and I don’t think xzibit will take too kindly to someone taking his job as the presenter.

I wasn't wrong when I've subscribed to Hooptie and Wizard for a while now. I have no intention of unsubscribing. I like that you where honest and self aware but not subject yourself fakery and pondering to people. It is a business after all. I'm glad I'm having fun watching you guys.

Cheapest one I could find on the usual sites was around $135K so I'd assume it was near that price.

My first thought was "wow, he's really got away from what made his channel so popular..." only to have him address that later in the video. That's why I will keep watching, he seems like a genuinely kind person who tries to keep himself in check in spite of his success.
