Now the A7Siii is out. What is your predictions for the A7iv? My wish list: - flip out touch screen (should be standard now) - same dual card support as Siii - same build as the 4.gen body’s - Better EVF than iii 5 mdot pixel (or would be awesome to have black out free like a9i) - new menus, updated ai tracking and eye focus - updated sensor 24 mpix, better low light performance - faster WiFi transfer speeds. -10fps mechanical shutter with anti flicker - improves video features. Like a light version of the Siii (like the R6 is of the R5) - priced under the R6

What would you suggest for memory cards? I guess the bigger question is what kind of laptop would be viable for the kind of footage that comes with the Intra mode using the CFexpress card? Seems like that would be the bigger problem...getting all that footage and the computer not handling it!

I got the discount, but Sony doesn't have the A7s iii at that price anymore. It's probably because they underestimated how many people would want this camera. No worries though because I saw a few lenses at a discounted price, and the discounted price for the A7s iii will probably be back for the second wave of shipments...I hope lol. whole27 that’s going to depend heavily on distance to subject. F/2.8 can obscure the background somewhat at portrait distance, but it isn’t going to be the same as a 1.4 or 1.8. This is going to be further minimized with the wider focal lengths.

whole27 the 12-24 Sony comes in two flavors the F2.8 GM and the F4 G if you want bokeh and don’t care about Sony lenses there’s the 14mm F1.8 Sigma for Sony E. Wide and fast, but only a prime. I use the Sony 20 F1.8 and 24 F1.4 GM as wide primes and generally happy with them.

Hi, now r5 is here and what z your thoughts about a7r4? I’m debating b/w a7r4 vs r5. The only thing I don’t like about a7r4 is the lack of touch screen, articulated screen and lack of multiple raw formats, which are all in r5 with I believe almost close to Sony in eye tracking too. But glasses for r5 ridiculously prized. Being a7s3 announced with all these features, I believe it is best in investing in a7r4 for future proof. What is your thoughts b/w these cameras? I don’t care about video features at all? Thanks in advance.

i live in Australia, the conversion right now of 3500 usd to australian dollars is 4880, however its selling for 5999. God dammit. Getting the .edu discount is super easy for college students with a .edu email address. B&H use UniDays to verify and UniDays only need a .edu email address to start your account.

I live in France and I can't believe the price in Europe for the a7siii. 4200 euros. With the dollar being so weak, that comes to 4500 dollars. That's about 800 dollars more than the regular price in the USA.

In EU you will need to find yourself a greymarket dealer, but it will probably take 2 months after release until they get the A7SIII.. You can easily save atleast €1000 euro compared to regular retailers..

I’m Canon as a hybrid shooter and haven’t appreciated the shade you’ve thrown on the r5 considering it’s still an amazing camera especially for true hybrid shooters. However I was unaware of the edu program and this will save me $hundreds so thank you 👏 My business partner is Sony and we appreciate and respect each other’s creative styles and uniqueness.
