Marbling 4 Fun is the best kit you can buy for all your marbling needs and then some.
@Leena792 жыл бұрын
I tried marbling in the 90s, and the only thing that really matters is that the colours aren't soluble in the liquid underneath. I found instructions for marbling in some crafting guidebook, and at the time, the only paints I had, which weren't water soluble, were these oil-based glass painting paints. I had no plastic container, so I filled my bathroom sink with water, dripped the paint in there, used a stick to make swirls, snd dipped my paper in. Apart from using the white ceramic sink of my childhood home, everything worked beautifully. The sink has been replaced by now, but let's just say, my mom was not enthusiastic about this project, even if she's usually a good supporter. I've since read that one way to do marbling with water based paints is to make a pudding of starch and water by boiling it and cooling it. I haven't tried this method, however. But you don't necessarily need special paints.

I’ve used marabu marbling for years, great for putting lovely covers on copper for making jewellery.

Your fave is my fave as well. I'd love to see you do a t-shirt. I wonder if you'd have to do any certain preparation on the shirt, like putting cardboard in between the back & front

That green ink made it look like lily pads. I loved that.

I have a couple of ideas Steve. Make the marbling liquid up in an old, no longer used, plastic dog bed because you get a bigger surface area to work in with one of those. I think your t-shirt idea is actually a brilliant one. Another idea is to cut out vinyl stickers to cover certain areas of the t-shirt which you can peel off once the t-shirt is dry from marbling, that would create some create effects too. Just a couple of things to think about. God bless you Steve and all those you love. Have a great day!

If you break the water plane by touching the water with the dropper then the inks can sink. I’ve usually seen 3 dimensional things like tennis shoes or phone cases etc slowly pushed down through the ink on top of the water so the ink colors cling to the item. I haven’t done it myself I’ve just watched utube videos of people doing it. Check them out! I’m sure you will get some great ideas! You always do. Have fun and I can’t wait to see more from you!!

I’ve never tried this, but saw a Japanese brand kit in a craft store. They were very expensive, so I didn’t buy them. The lovely lady that owns the store told me that marbling can be done with alcohol ink and also nail polish, so that would be a good experiment to try. I’ve watched KZbin videos where they use cans of spray paint and the results were amazing. Thank you for sharing this 😀. I will have to try and find the Pebeo kit, although I may struggle there. Australia doesn’t seem to have a lot of the Pebeo products.

Can you please do this technique using card stock and more pastel colors?

That's .pretty cool! I really prefer the first ones that you did. They look really great! The one that was oil based didn't look as good to me

This looks like a lot of fun!😄👍💖 A thought just came to me ~ Do you know what would happen if you put wax into resin? You know those wax beads you use for wax seal stamping! I was thinking it would be cool to put wax seals into resin but wasn't sure as resin heats up when curing right so I'm guessing the wax seals might just melt into a blob or something ... 😅🤷♀
