Just want to say, this is now my favorite build to play. It took 4 days to get the Oakensoul ring, but once I had it, this is just a blast. I don't have it all tweaked in, yet ... ie, the specifics and traits, but it still does a lot of damage. I would like to see a StamBlade build for the Oakensoul in the future.

I started playing the game a couple of weeks ago as necromancer, and it was really rough. Necromancer feels super clunky and its hard to keep everything up at all times as a newer player, so I decided to try this since it looked fun. It was, great build! I did my first veteran dungeon with it and got complimented by our healer.

That's awesome man! Templars in general are very easy to get to know and play well and necromancer, although my favorite, definitely has a tougher rotation as it can be very dynamic casting blast bones every third ability. If you get into PVP, I recommend starting with a magic Templar as well. Super easy, great survivability, good offensive output, and you can provide group buffs and healing. I currently run mechanical acuity with Olorime and Magma incarnate in PVP and it decimates.

As it happens I have High Isle ready to download in about 9 hours. I was thinking to start a new Templar so this is perfect. I've tried Necromancer and Dragonknight and they don't feel as good as Templar imo, for solo play. If I can change one thing it would be Elemental Drain over Inner Light. Just lower that resistance of bosses and get better sustain. Inner light is good but doesn't offer that much if you have the Mythic

I would definitely use purifying light over magelight. Super cheap, massive damage plus a trickle heal.

I feel like camo hunter would be better than magelight for the minor berserk and spell damage plus ulti gen on kills. Purifying light definitely the best choice IMO if you have to choose. I run a 2-bar plar so I can have all 3. Lol

I’ve been running this as an alternate build on my main (healer) and it’s amazing. I had to do medusa on legs as I don’t have chest in my sticker book. I also left the recovery enchant to help me with longer fights.

Like I said tried it on a modified Nova build. Both using Hexo, one with Plague set as a grind God and wow, it's blows through enemies, even on veteran pug runs. It does struggle with a little sustain due to the mostly medium armor, but fun. For the other setup I used Order Wraths, which works well with Hexo, because hexo has those critical stats. Better sustain and better singal target damage, or more versatile. One thing I noticed with the ring, is that I have more ultimate to use, which is fun.

Hi George. This build maxes out the blue tree at 1350 points. Make sure you pick up Blessed as well. With extra points you can have more slotted stars that you swap in for group content. Great example would be backstabber which you can use if you have a good tank or companion that allows you to fight behind the enemy. Substitute this for Wrathful Strikes.

Medusa + Oaken combo will be obsolete with U35 release, because both sets will give you Minor Force. Inner Light's Major Savagery and Prophecy is also on Oaken, not worth it for +5% magicka imho. Also Empower on solar barage.

You may not hit highest dps numbers but you also won’t need to heavy attack nearly as often. I would stick with mageslight since brenton has that 2k mag line so that will get boosted 7%.

Hey Henri. This build sustains best in solo arenas or dungeons where you have plenty of kills giving you magicka back from Siphoning Spells CP node. Without that you will need to heavy attack more often to help sustain. Make sure you have an absorb magic enchant on your staff and you could also substitute one jewelry glyph for recovery. Another good option is to switch Inner Light/Purifying Light for Elemental Drain

Was there a reason why you are using the Lightning staff and not the Inferno (or isn't Inferno the be-all staff it used to be?) (Just trying to get my head around why certain weapons are used - I guess two daggers aren't as we want to use the staff ultimate)

Lightning staff buffs AOE damage which most of our skills are. Daggers is quite good too but you won’t be able to heavy attack to get magicka back which will be a problem without group support

I just started with ESO. I played other MMORPGs like WoW and DCUO for thousands of hours and always was a Healer main so of course I want to play a healer in ESO aswell. But now I heard everywhere that healers are not appriciated and not needed in this game for later content and it’s hard to get a group for endgame dungeons. Is it really that bad?

Healers in trials (12-man content) are still ABSOLUTELY essential and Templars are naturally kitted as excellent healers. When doing smaller group-based or solo-based content, a Templar can EASILY transition to doing extreme damage while healing others as well.

If you wanna play a healer, i wouldn’t listen too much to the online gossip mate. Healers are kinda not needed for older and easier 4-players dungeons, because the self-healing people have is usually enough, so the healer is better off doing damage. HOWEVER, if you wanna do raids (trials) or dungeons on hard mode, healers are always needed, even if you have crazy self-sustain. The beautiful thing about this is: You can build a 1st bar for damage and a 2nd bar for healing when you explore the world or do easy content. So you can do damage and explore the world. Then later on, you just swap to healing staff in 1st slot, destro staff in 2nd slot and adapt your weapon/armor sets to the healer role. There you go. The reason people crap on healers online is because most people in eso don’t engage with the end-game content or harder group content. So in a sense, they are right saying healers are not needed, but they’re also wrong. Because endgame NEEDS healers. Some of the craziest people i played with were on tanks or healers. They just saved the groups multiple times in hard mode dungeons. So yeah, we need your healing power :)

Lightning staff gives a buff to AoE abilities VIA the destruction staff passives. This build uses mostly AoE abilities.
