I’m getting this just for the piano 😂 as a musician, we need more instruments in this game. I’m starting to get bored of that grand piano, bcause it doesnt suite a traditional home like this.

I am not a musician, but I'm in disbelief that there's not a drum set in the game! Flutes would be so easy to model! It's literally just guitar, violin, and piano. It's very limited.

I love how Deli use a moderate amount of clutter. It makes houses much more playable. Also I always feel so bad deleting clutter from houses from the gallery, but I need space for my family's stuff lol

I have the desk glitch with bunk beds too!!! It's been happening to me for over a year no matter what bed/desk combo I use, so thank you deli for telling the sims team. I have hope it might finally be addressed and I can use bunk beds again 😁

The desk glitch has been a thing in my game for a while. I love the idea of bunkbeda but everytime I put anything under one other than another bed, it always goes to my inventory. So it isn't just with the new desk, it happens when every desk I've tried.

The young adult room is so right! My room is now my mum’s extended wardrobe with a bed for when I come home.. and my best friend had been at uni for a year and went home and her mum had sold her bed! Had to sleep on a blow up mattress on the floor 😂

Catching up on this series, loving it so far! You should def prioritize expanding the nursery and adding a second bathroom (maybe off the guest room?) Any extras could go to a few more skill/fun items or mayyybeee painting the outside. Also, money bin!

Just found something out by accident 😂 not sure how many people know but if you click more options on the box baby basinet, you can now change the outfit of the baby! Without knitting for hours 😂 there are loads of cute outfits ☺️

This is super sweet and would be a fun home to play in! I love all the soft colors paired with the more craftsmen style. I’ve been having that desk under the bunk bed glitch for months and months. And the dream home modular shelves. The items always disappear and go into the inventory.

Great build Deli! The glitch of items popping off their surface is one that's existed for a while now - basically anything on a surface that is snapped to another object (such as anything on a desk that is snapped into a bunkbed, or anything on a one of the DHD shelves that are snapped to other DHD shelves) will get put into the household inventory upon reloading the lot. It's incredibly frustrating, and if you can get them to fix that bug, I know so many of us builders would be eternally grateful 😅💜

I found a way to fix the bug on reddit. Save the lot to your library, bulldoze and then place the lot back down.

I’m building my first family with infants in our cottage living town. And I love the house it’s a cute blue farm house… but it only has two bedrooms and I am not good at creating additions. Definitely hoping you create a farmhouse/craftsman home that is four bedrooms and where the treehouse is in the backyard.

I think I remember watching a video a while ago that said the items disappearing had something to do with how items slotting together in Sims 4 works. The clutter ends up in your household inventory so I just keep the clutter slotted to the secondary item minimal then put them back when I load the game.

Love this house! Also, I've had the deletion of items on desks which are under an upper bunk bed issue for AGES. The only ways I've been able to "fix" the problem is by putting the desk perpendicular to the bed, so that it creates an "L" shape OR to move the desk out from under the bed completely. I know it isn't really a fix, but I just got so annoyed at having to replace everything that was on the desk every time I loaded up the save.

Movies definitely don't portray money realistically, but it's also worth remembering that the US is a large country, and has parts where land is very cheap. These areas have their own problems (lack of jobs, limited access to healthcare) but when you add in the predatory lending that banks get up to, you can definitely find places in the US with very large homes, despite a lot of poverty. I think it's also just easier to film in a large space, hah. But the US views house size differently than most of the world. I grew up in NYC, so I never saw Hallmark style houses growing up, but since moving away, I've had roommates who grew up in families who had serious money struggles, but who also had childhood bedrooms that struck me as huge (like from a Nickelodeon show!😄Those kids always had the best bedrooms.)

‘Homely’ essentially means ‘plain.’ In the U.S. it’s usually used when referring to someone’s appearance. But can also be used to describe a place. I still feel like the word you should be using is ‘homey’ because the proper definition is ‘inviting and cozy’ and that seems to be what you mean when you say it. I would not call this house plain at all. It’s so cute and cozy even though it’s a big house! Love it! 💗

Love this build! In America we say “homey” to describe like a cozy home or atmosphere. Homely in the US means plain/unattractive (by American definition, although in my region I don’t hear this term ever, maybe it’s more of a generational word and is used by elder generations / not sure.)

Folks I babysit for turned their walk-in closet into a toddler bedroom. I'm intending to turn my closet into a little alcove bedroom now that my daughter is reading for a big girl bed but not quite ready to be in her own room. It's definitely a space saver!

Yes !!!! I have started playing a familly ... trying to complete all 3 parenting aspirations (two base game & parenthood one) which I haven't done in years... plus trying to make sure each of the 3 kids reach every mile stone... it's pure chaos which is exactly the opposite of my usual game play (I run a tight ship) and I actually play in one of your houses renovated... I was starting to "worry" because I will need extra rooms to allow for 3 generations to live there and I just cant deal with building right now ! So this is perfect !!! Shame the lots are so small in San Sequoia... it's probably my biggest complaint with the pack, having to choose between living in a cramped box with a yard or having a decent sized family home wity no outdoor space ... I get why there aren't many huge 64×64 lots but come on... a few 40 by 30 would have been good !!!

The bug with the bunk bed/desk and items on top of the desk and or the desk chair has been since Dream Home Decorator was released. I submitted a bug report back in 2021 when the pack was released.

In America Homey in regard to a house is positive, Homey in regard to a person is derogatory. It more or less means a person who doesn't care about how they look, frumpy housewife style. Homey as a home is sort of lower quality but comfortable. Kinda like Cozy means small but warm and inviting.

the hallmark big house thing might not really be fantasy. houses in America are just cheaper in some states than in Australia. I live in the American mid south in a suburban town and most people here have a 2 story house (most people here are middle class). Our 2 story house has 3 bedrooms and an office that could also be a bedroom and we bought it for like 260k ...meanwhile my cousins in California bought a smaller house than ours for over 400k. it just depends on location

I think the base game's 4 basic wallpapers, they should just have a color wheel as the color swatch. The basic 4 are Flat Solid Color, Stucco Textured, Flat with Crown Molding, and Flat with Half Paneling. For the latter two, the swatches would be for the wood color for the trim/paneling then you would just color wheel the "paint" color. This wouldn't be for all wallpapers obviously, but for these 4 basics would be nice as you can fully select the color you would want. Then they would honestly just have to focus on the other categories and patterned wallpapers rather than constantly introducing additional solid-colored wall colors.
