I have lots of little cubbies/ nooks that my husband built into walls for me. I love them! Most of them are small areas which made it very hard to spackle, but they look awesome holding just one item or a small collection. We also did a recessed mirror in the foyer! Everyone loves it!

I actually love that the arch doesn't look perfectly smooth - it makes it look like it's been there for a lot longer. Especially when you take it in with your beam on the ceiling, it looks original. Love it!
@nancibishof64622 жыл бұрын
Usually 1/4" drywall is used with scoring of the back much closer together on the arch to create a smoother arching. That said, I like that the shelves are built in and it adds interest to your home's kitchen area. You have great design instincts. Your reworking of your spaces are really creative and livable.

Thank you for the words of encouragement for people like me who fear an ugly, unprofessional outcome. What's funny is that I just had an epiphany this year regarding that very thing. I said to myself, "Why should you expect a professional looking outcome when it's your first attempt ever?!" Lol! I realized how silly I'd been, and that the only way to get better is to practice. Right now, I have a number of projects that need finishing touches (stain). I've made a plant bench, a hanging plant tray as well as a plant "stool" with leftover material. Just to get away from the plant theme, I also made a bath tray. Yes, they're all simple, and if someone should see them they'd be kind of meh about it. It doesn't stop me from being proud of what I've accomplished. (I left off my fireplace rehab. That one has me a bit overwhelmed at the moment.) Thank you for another great video!

II's beautiful, and I love your "Embrace the imperfections" mindset. I want to make one! Especially into the gallery rails. I have a time-saving tip for your next drywall project: 20-minute mud is a game-changer for being able to save nearly a day of drying time. You can't use it for your final coat - doesn't sand as easy - but it is brilliant for the first coat. I buy it dry and just mix as much as I need. Vancouver Carpenter is my favourite KZbinr for drywall advice - he's made me a much better drywaller.
