Add some shimming to the board's outer edges to get it up off the ground so it doesn't sit like that. You can make them out of some wood and use longer small nuts and bolts. But that is a nice board idea to hold the pedals on. I like that.

I saw your P90's on Phil McKnight . I was blown away . At 76 I have hade a few guitars with them in including an early 60's Gibson SG and I have never heard better. They are total killer. It just hasn't been done better.

Cool pedal board design. Maybe move the Tonex to the bottom left so the bottom row is stuff feeding the amp and then the top row (moving back to the right) is post-amp effects. That way your final output jack is close to the built-in interface jacks.

Cioks makes power supplies that not only fit underneath but work with a standoff kit that allows you to put cables between the supply and the underside of the Temple board.

You should use a cioks dc7. These are the best and lowest profile power supplies.

Hey, I have a question about this. I want to plug my tonex pedal into my pedal board. But if I use a power supply that matches 9V does it have to be a certain power to make it work or would the standard 9 V work from like a power supply that we usually go on a pedalboard.

are you just running this back to an interface on the pc or an amp?

Players would still need to buy an amplifier ($$$$) and or speakers ($$$$) PLUS the Tone X ($$$) to get the sounds out of the unit vs ONE full unit that literally does everything. (And or a DAW/INTERFACE/Computer etc.) which is also $$$$$$$$$

Great video. One thing that's confusing me about the TONEX pedal is: "how do I use it in conjunction with my physical speakers"? in other words, it has cabs and VIRs in the tonex pedal, but if I'm using a specific physical speaker (for example Boss Katana, or Fender Deluxe) then am I supposed to use these cabs and/or VIRs? If you can make a video showing and explaining when to use cabs/VIRs and when not to use them - it'll be so fantastic. Thanks again for this video and for your channel in general.

IIRC you just turn off the cab sim part and you are good to go. Or you might even like how it sounds with the cab sim on.

Follow up question here: if you like the virtual IRs in the pedal, can you plug the Tonex's output to the fx's return? Is this recommended? I mean, Guitar>>Tonex>>FX Return; in order to not engage the amp's preamp and get a transparent signal to the speakers. Can we do this?

Dylan I'm curious what the options are for using this thing without a traditional amp. The best advantage would be gigging and plugging into a PA. I guess also into an interface and a DAW on the computer, but would there be latency? And is there headphones out from the ToneX pedal?
@deroyale07
@deroyale07 Жыл бұрын
Yes there is headphone out which is great for practice.. I'm also curious about what should I use with this when practising at home.. Is it ok to go directly my amp or I need something else..

So I watched your pot waxing videos but they was older and so I wanted to ask my question on a newer video. How to you wax pot a Fishman Fluence Killswitch Engage pick up set? They are microphonic. But the back isnt closed like say a EMG or what not. You can see the mother board if u call it that. Alls I know is its green and looks like it goes in a computer. I mean Im sure you know that but I just want to make sure you have the information you need to help if you can.

I envision a ToneX into a pair of Fryette PS-100, attenuators H90 > fx loops of PS100s into a 4x12 (stereo 8ohm) V30s & GreenBacks and/or a pair of HR112 frfr The ps100 fx loops do not feed their respective XLR outs Option overload these days… and have just discovered the MOD dwarf,..

Can't stress this enough. Love the temple audio board, but use painters tape or something of that ilk so that the plate can be removed from your pedals without you hating your life.
@dougstrong5386

I also swapped the feet on mine with rubber amp feet that have a lot more clearance so my Strymon power supply fits.
@blueleaftuber
@blueleaftuber Жыл бұрын
What do you mean, how would you use painters tape?
@dougstrong5386
@dougstrong5386 Жыл бұрын
If you put painters tape on the back of the pedal before you place the plate for the temple boards, you can remove the plate really easily if you want to keep the back of your pedals clean. Otherwise it's a bit of a pain in the ass.

@blueleaftuber Жыл бұрын
@@handofike isn't the power stage going to be the amp/speakers that it's plugging into anyways? There's no power stage inside the ToneX pedal, it's basically just a preamp
@handofike
@handofike Жыл бұрын
@@blueleaftuber No. The pedal is a cab sim too and there is no way to place anything effect wise after the simulated pre amp and before the simulated cab so it's not going to give you that sound. Fine if you're using it for Fender amps that don't have an FX loop,. If you want the sound of an actual FX loop then it's not going to do it.

I inherited a brand new digitech rp1000. Do you know anything about it? I am just getting into pedals and I know you can use independent pedals if needed. I also know you can’t really use it to gig because if you are ending a song and say you have a long delay at the very end and you swap patches it kills the last patch so it keeps you from being able to swap patches mid song or whenever. I just want to know if its amp models are good enough for me to get an understanding of what i like. I have a fender bassbreaker 15 thats great but i dont understand the 4 cable method and I like the idea of trying out different amp models. Im also not real sure about signal chain when the effects loop is needed for modulation effects. It doesn’t seem like anyone wants to simplify or dumb it down for me. Everyone wants to be an expert and feel smarter than me when it comes to the effects thing😊😊. Do you have a disdain for tone city pedals? I haave a couple of drive pedals i like. The sweet cream and the durple. I play an LP, tele and a strat. So im finding out different pedals work better with humbuckers some with single coils. I also have an old big muff and an OCD. I DON’T HAVE much head room so I can drrive the fender into distortion easily. I have decided ,due to some advice that im not going to buy another drive pedal ive been told a boost is all i need with that amp and a LP.
