Heard about the game months ago but never expected it to be my cup of tea. It was on sale with a Black Friday deal and thought I would give it a go. I did not expect to actually enjoy it as much as I did but still needed a guide as the ingame hints are rubbish. I googled someone playing this game and this video was the first result. I have since watching this learned so much about how to do things right and improve layout and design. Cheers for sharing this!

A few things. 1) charcoal, apples, or sheep breeding should be your first point Charcoal- if your eventually going for deep mining its a great perk to start off with because you will need it eventually, it's also great ti have because it keeps your fuel up amazingly and you don't need as much logs cut down for firewood, plus it's a great thing to export (statisticaly it's the most bang for your buck) cheap to start and you can stockpile a lot very quickly. Apples- takes 3 years to fully grow, but you do get Apples every year regardless. Plus it leads you to irrigation. Sheep breeding- this let's you buy 20- lambs and that's all you have to buy for the rest of the game. Lambs are way cheaper only take a year or two to become mature enough to make baby sheep all the while you can shear them and make yarn and clothing (different types even) Plus if your in a shitty fertility area. You can go the route of of plow then fencing which allows you to put your sheep on your fallow fields which greatly enhances your fertility on that field. That allows you to grow what you need (wheat, barley and flax) no Matter the fertility. Just my two cents.

I will have to disagree. Since the update(watch my latest play throughs), apiaries and orchards are just too easy. Unless you are playing longer than 20 years in game, there is no point in the others
