I used to use starmie for story simply because when we want to start another region all over again, all you need to do is to breed it and the movest will be learned again by the offspring. Maybe the move TM thing could be one of the consideration, since other pokemon other than gyarados for example, need some more extra yen to put the moveset into.

choose chickorita as your starter and catch a decent geodude off the northern route off the first route and you will smash every single enemy for the entire first half of the game, to make the whole thing easy mode you should get: a geodude or high def rock or ground pokemon, a hidden ability murkrow flying types are great in the region and cover your weaknesses for the rock/ground type, a wide moveset pokemon like gengar, starmie, or hitmonchan, and a pokemon decent at using dragon type moves that isnt weak to dragons, as for me i went with drilbur, murkrow, hitmonchan, archeops, an hm spammer and chickorita

@@akhsdenlew1861 well if you have one lol sure no problem, but you can get geodude at the beginning of the game if you are doing a non gtl run, edit i actually used mold breaker drilbur when i actually cleared the region and it worked easy as pie

@izzypeezy9139 sure, I bred up a totodile, mareep, swinub, slugma, murkrow, and misdreavus. All of them stacked with 5x31 and the totodile and murkrow ended up 6x31. Hidden abilities where applicable. All natured and ev trained but I didn't ev train them for pvp so after the story I could reset them and get them set up for it if I want to.

The best team for johto is HA bulbasaur. Growth, Giga drain, HA fire, and sludge wave. He can solo the game except the e4. For the e4, he needs someone to set sunny day. Then gg

hey! i wanted to share my strategy with you guys. i like to use a clefable with stealth rock(usefull against e4 and gym leaders) calm mind, psychic/tri-attack and Moonlight(can use softboiled but its more expensive), its very cheap, can set up, has magic guard and learns all the moves besides Stealth rock/tri attack by level up/mushrooms. Psychic attack cant really hit steel, psychic and dark types (tri attack hits everything but steel, ghost and rock) so my second pokemon is a Moxie Pinsir ! Pinsir is cheap even with HA, learns great level up moves (Swords dance , Storm Throw/brick break and ´x scissor)so he can hit evertyhing that clefable can not hit, and has good basespeed. in my opinion perfect partner for clefable. pinsir has no evolution and clefable just needs a moonstone. let me know what you think!

Krookodile is one of my favorite pokemon but I already have a 6x31 natured Alpha that I use for literally everything (fire fang/thunder fang/crunch/earthquake) so making another seems kinda pointless. I agree he's the best pokemon for beating regions but I want to build a unique team! Show us that weird brain!

I made a service on pokemmo to breed and make you pokemon based on a randomizer. Someone get 3 pokemon from me and it was a caterpie, glameow and aron. And he's not allowed to evolve anything. To make it a challenge. That's gonna be rough haha

Nice choices :) I'm personally gonna make a lvl 20 Togekiss for Johto. With the Serene Grace ability and Air Slash, the odds of the opponent flinching is soooo high, and I can clear trainers fast. Togekiss has better defensive stats, but slightly lower Sp. Atk stats than porygon. Pairing that with the flinch potential on Togekiss it feels really strong. Also I'm an avid Metronome enjoyer cause that move is so much fun. (Togekiss; Move set: Air Slash/Flamethrower/Metronome/Nasty Plot)

Porygon is a fantastic idea - I've been breeding my own Mons to save some money and sniping Mons from the GTL when I can So far I've got: Magikarp - Hidden Ability for Moxie Heracross Espeon - Hidden Ability for Magic Bounce Got a Modest 3x31 HP/Def/Sp Atk and 1x30 Speed - Alpha Eevee (Female) for $299k Trying to decide between starters, might run with Totodile because that's what I rocked on Crystal

i usually do around 2x31 + nature, or even 1x31 + a couple x25+ and correct nature, just gotta prioritize that nature!

They announced johto for spring 2023 around 5 months ago on the forums, many videos covering the details on my channel! The implementation of a new region isn’t so simple in an mmo format, you really have to balance everything and change mechanics like legendaries, breeding, and the red gyarados encounter! Yes but u need 2 devices to be able to login into multiple characters to do it. If its a trust issue, scamming is against the rules so if u confirm in chat something like "hey im just trading you my porygon to evo and youll trade it back right?" and they say "yes" they can get banned which isnt worth just for a storyline porygon, so most people wont risk it. Also CM's in global chat will often help people with trade evos if u ask nicely, or people in my discord/community!

This is my team: * Only using this team if you have first account. Not recommended for new player * 1. Starmie (modest 252 sp atk 252 speed) Ability: natural cure Item: wise glasses Role: special attacker Move: -surf (HM) -psychic -thunderbolt -ice beam The best thing about starmie is you only need water stone to evolve it, no minimal req. level. 2. Pinsir (adamant 252 atk 252 speed) Ability: mold breaker Item: muscle band Role: physical attacker Move: -strom throw -x scizzor -strength (HM) -dig (for cave) You dont neee to evolve. High atk. Mold breaker will get rid those sturdy enemies. 3. Chincino (adamant 252 atk 252 speed) Ability: skill link Item: wide lens Role: 2nd physical attacker Move: -bullet seeds (guarantee 5 hits) -rock blast (guarantee 5 hits) -return -u turn Skill link with bullet seed and rock blast will get rid focus sash enemies. You only need shiny stone to evolve, no minimal req. level. 4. Gliscor (impish 252 hp 252 def) Ability: poison heal Item: toxic orb Role: physical wall (safe switch) Move: -Cut (HM) -earthquake -u turn -protect/facade Again, you can evolve it without minimal level. You only need razor fang and night time. 5. Chansey (bold 252 hp 252 def) Ability: natural cure Item: eviolite Role: special wall + teleporter (safe switch) Move: -wish -teleport -toxic -protect This is the most expensive member. But worth it. Chansey will make all of your team always healthy without any status. 6. Tropius (HM friend) Move: -Flash -rock smash -strengh/defog (if the region need defog, you have pinsir with strength remember) -fly Tropius is bulky enough. You can make this pokemon as your wall as well. 7. Psyduck > golduck (cave explorer) Move: -flash -waterfall -rock smash -rock climb/strength You only need this dude for cave. Switch with tropius. Use strengh HM if the region dont have rock climb HM. If the region have rock climb, then you still have pinsir for strength HM. You need to evolve it into golduck, so it can learn rock climb. Almost every member of my team didn't need minimal req. level to evolve (except psyduck). Easy evolve. Some of them not even need to evolve. With this team, you can use a "top tier" pokemons since the beginning of the story. The only downside is, they're pretty expensive 😅

I'll be running through johto with johto 'mons only, as I catch them fresh and new. My childhood nostalgia needs this 🤣 mom bought me a gameboy pocket (before the gameboy color came out) and pokemon red, that was my first game. When crystal came out, she bought me that, none of us realizing the difference between the pocket and the color, and that the pocket could not run crystal 🤣 had the game for EVER staring at it before I got a gameboy advance to be able to play it and it became (and still is) my favorite game in the series
