It's that switch from A to A minor that elevates this song from a "mere" rock classic to something akin to high art. Having listened to this song hundreds of times since it first came out on The Beatles' Second Album in 1964, how is it that I'm focusing on this modulation for the very first time just now??? On the original, it's more subtle than in this explainer but dang it, it's there. If you didn't play it, the song falls apart. Brilliant.

Hey Von, always good to hear from you. I still shudder to think of the catalogue of songs they produced at such a young age and in the short time they were together...simply staggering. As for screaming electric in the closet maybe Helter Skelter, eh? Yeah, I'll get the electric out again and do some grittier stuff soon. Thanks for the p.s. Cheers friend.

Joe, wonderful video tutorial... such a great song that would put any songwriter/band to shame today. How could they write those brilliant songs when they were in their early 20's? I love your tutorials however, have you ever considered using your electric guitar in the closet and showing the grittier/harder Beatles tunes? :D Your Friend Von p.s. You've got a nice singing voice

Nice. Not to nit pick but the C#7 as shown is not correct as the G# is missing and an E should not be in the chord. It sounds ok, but..
