Yes, it DOES matter which store it tells you to go because not every store carries the same products. It's like how finding Barq's Red Creme soda in actual store is a rarity in the US. Anyway, here's some Publix history: Founded in 1930 by George W. Jenkins, Publix is a private corporation that is wholly owned by present and past employees and members of the Jenkins family. George previously worked as a stock clerk and a manager at Piggly Wiggly from 1926 to 1930. When Jenkins decided to open his own grocery store, he adopted the name "Publix" from a struggling New York-based movie theater company called Publix Theatres Corporation. Jenkins stated “Most of the theaters were closing up, and I liked the sound of the name, so I just took it for my store.”

Absolutely it matters, I work at a Kroger chain and we get Instacart shoppers in the wrong store all the time, looking for items that we never carried that the one a mile away from us does, and then when these dipshits cancel an order they usually ditch the cart and walk away with perishable and frozen items that we end up trashing
@TheTrueHallZoo Жыл бұрын
The reason you go to the store that's stated on the app is because not all of the same name stores have the same items at the same time. Like, the correct Publix probably had the neck bone thing that wasn't at the Publix you went to.

Instacart be like "You could not live with your own failure. Where did that bring you? Back to me". Publix was founded in Florida and now they're all over the South, kudos to Florida Man for maintaining these locations so well! Yes, babies need electrolytes, especially if the mother isn't breast-feeding. Electrolytes help maintain fluid balance in a baby's body cells. Dehydration for babies, which leads to diarrhea and vomiting, can very much happen and this is why electrolytes for them are important. Pedialyte is for drinking...not bathing lol. Pedialyte actually has a significantly higher electrolyte content than Gatorade!

I'm not far into the video but I can already tell that you've improved from last time in terms of what orders you're willing to select. Respecting your time more is good. I have another tip that will definitely help you based on what I've seen so far - don't get hung up too much on the specific brand or minor details. For example when they didn't have the right brand of ground chicken, you could save a lot of time and stress by simply hitting "cannot find item" and either getting a backup choice, or hitting scan replacement and simply offering them whatever you see as a reasonable alternative. 99% of the time the customer doesn't care that much about the specifics, they just clicked whatever ground chicken they saw in the app. Same goes for portion sizes. If they don't have the 500oz option of a thing you are looking for, but they do have a 200oz one, just scan 2 of those as a replacement. Being more assertive about Replacements will save you a ton of time and stress, and on the off-chance that the customer disagrees with your choice you can circle back to it later, at least your not standing there wasting time!
@GoHerping Жыл бұрын
noted! that reminds me, I can't figure out how to suggest 2 items for 1 replacement. Like for 32oz strawberries, I've been able to suggest one 16oz but not two 16oz. but maybe I'm overlooking something
@magickaldust1213 Жыл бұрын
I obviously can't speak for others when I say this, but to me personally when I am placing a grocery order, brand and size both ABSOLUTELY matter. I usually pick brand based off of whatever is cheapest, usually going with the generic. Usually substituting name brand costs me more than twice as much. As for portion size- I have usually planned out multiple meats for multiple meals, accounting for the exact right amount for the people in my family. I have to meal plan exactly what we are getting to be able to afford everything. I'm not saying to completely disregard this advice, I am merely reminding that not all families, especially the more poor they are, (and yes I understand they likely of them using grocery delivery is lower but you have to account for people's "convenience fee" and disabilities, etc) will be thinking like this just "substitute whatever" trail of thought 💭

If the customer doesn't like your suggestions they will let you know, and you can discuss further from there.
