Most athletes left Berlin with a time about 1-2 minutes off their PB due to the hot and humid conditions. So to break yours is absolutely massive and it means there’s much more to come!

It goes without saying that Phily rocked it in the half (and her post-race breakdown has so much to teach us other runners). But as for Daniel, not only did he also do a bang-up job of cheering; this may be one of the best, most sophisticated pieces of short filmmaking I've yet seen from him. Well done to both of you! (Oh, and here I see in my KZbin feed that he's got his own behind-the-scenes video; gonna go check that out now!)

Here is some medical advice (I'm a Dutch GP): if there is fluid underneath the nail you can use a red hot needle or paperclip (my personal preference). It melts through the nail causing instant relief and because it's hot it's sterile. Just put it in the gas flame from the kitchen stove (that works better than a flame from a lighter).

Congrats on the PB! Love the Grind! Just found your channel a couple days ago. I like your energy and your positive, yet realistic attitude about goals. Heat up a brass paperclip and poke it through the nail to release the pressure. Heating it will sterlize it and also allow it to melt the nail to poke through.

Thank you to you and Daniel for continuing to share your journeys. I want you to know how helpful it is to a hobbyist like me to learn through you. I'm running my first Boston Marathon tomorrow and cycling between crippling anxiety and euphoria and what you said about not focusing about going after a time was so helpful. Monumentally so. Of course, I want to qualify again but my real goal is to finish (and hope for no leg cramps as has happened in previous marathons). Thank you. ❤

Congratulations on the PB. That was a hard earned one and you raced it as good as you could on the day! Well done! I'm really impressed you got a PB. You'll get that 1:11 half on a better day, I'm sure. I ran a half on the same weekend a bit further south and I nearly melted. I wanted to get around in 1:45 but was a tad slower, 1:46. I was on target until 16 km (10 mi) and then I felt dizzy due to the heat so I slowed down. I'd rather finish it than end up in A&E. It wasn't the best day to run a fast time but it was the best I could do on the day.

I also have Nike Alphafly, and also got blisters after running half marathons in them, and the blisters were in different places each time. The only thing is doctors don't recommend to pop those bubbles as the liquid inside helps to heal the blister faster. At the same time, it looked like your strides in those shoes were 10-15 cm longer than in the previous races. I hope they'll help you to setup quite a few more PBs :)

Hello Phily, I love your videos. You are such a great content-creator!!! I'm german and live in Berlin and when I watched this video (I watch all of your videos although I'm quite old, 55 🤣), I recognised, that your flat in Berlin was very close to mine and you used the same Tram to go to Alexanderplatz as I do. Also you did your running in the same park as I do and I wished, I would have been this guy in the video you met in the park. Unfortunatly I couldn't see you running, because I had some business in the south of Germany an was not in the town. Otherwise I would have cheered for you!!! Your time is great. Most runners didn't achieve their goals because of the temperature.

You can drain fluid under toenails easily and pain free. Heat a needle with a flame (benefit of making it sterile) rest it over the spot on the nail which has most fluid/darkest. It will melt the nail (no need for much force!) as soon as you feel loss of resistance/relief/see fluid stop. Tada you have drained your nail. Will be much comfier after this. Keep clean and dry. This is what I was told by runner/ER drs.
