Amazing you found another of the 2006's! Also, I ordered the Charlton Standard Catalogue CANADIAN COINS Volume 1, Ed 77. I think it just got released. Thank you for the discount code, appreciate it and your content.

WOW! Congrats on the 2006 magnetic NO LOGO penny! I'm still looking for one here in the states. I live in Vermont about 5 miles from the Canadian border about an hour from Montreal so I'm still holding out hope to find one! That one and the Very Rare 2006 P non magnetic one too! Beautiful condition! and an extra $4.50 to boot! That will help with the gas cost a little bit! GREAT HUNT!

Congrats for your dime roll! That's crazy! Either the teller missed it and put it with the pennies, or the customer who brought it in missed it and sold it to the bank as pennies. Either way, we'll never know. The paper used appears to be "Generic" brown rolling paper the bank gave away sometimes in the 80s or 90s, good for all denominations. I still have some of these unused sheets... Of course, if you roll coins in this (or home made papers, loose leaves, etc...) you need to know what you have, to write it on, or at least tell the teller what it is. A few months ago, I helped a friend roll some coins (I went through them, of course, and found a silver dime, nickel nickels, and a few Canadian Flag color quarters I pulled aside) and we used white paper, but his bank refused them. I know why they accepted pennies, though, is that they don't pay more than 50 cents for it, so they can just make profit, but I'm glad you made that profit on the end, cool... Also, nice 2006 magnetic. I would guess it is strong XF, or AU. It's a very good coin, and I hope I have one in my $100 worth of pennies I want to go through at a later time. I was not able to get any more since... Anyways, nice hunt to watch, thanks.

Very cool that you found the 2006 magnetic in the zinc design. How cool is that?!? Prices sure came down for these since my 2006 Video.
@CADRollHunter5 ай бұрын
Thanks Bruce! I heard a story from a dealer that someone found several rolls of them and sent them all into ICCS for grading at the same time. That sort of flooded the market and put downward pressure on the prices. I gather they're still scarce, but not the 222 that was originally thought.
@sdanbewa6 ай бұрын
How do you sort/store your copper pennies? Do you just throw them all together in a bucket/jar or do you go a little more elaborate? I store/sort mine based on weight/composition & portrait and I roll them up and put them in penny boxes.
@CADRollHunter6 ай бұрын
Great question! For all the circultated stuff, I roll everything up by year for 1937-1964. Copper 1965-1996 is all together in several buckets. Anything BU I roll up separately for all years.

I've heard there are only a few hundred of those '06 no mint mark, magnetic pennies known to exist. Nice catch!
@CADRollHunter6 ай бұрын
The Charlton Guide used to say 222, but I heard a story that someone found an UNC roll (or two) of them and sent them all in to be graded at the same time. That left the community realizing there were certainly more than 222, and put a bit of downward pressure on the price from its all-time high. No doubt they're scarce, but now that I've found 2...

Great penny hunt and treasures. Extra bonus with the dimes! Do some experiments with Heinz tomato ketchup, rub on coin for 2-5 seconds and wash under running water... it can help remove fingerprints. if you overdo it the copper will turn pinkish.
@CADRollHunter6 ай бұрын
Thanks for the tip. Not sure I'm brave enough to try ketchup. At least not on a valuable coin. But maybe something I'd try for fun on another penny!

I really want to start coin roll hunting but I don’t know what banks will maybe have older coins. Can you please help me?
@CADRollHunter3 ай бұрын
You can't know what the banks have. They just have random, assorted rolled coins. Just start by asking to buy some rolls and then open them up and see what's inside. Good luck!

What bank company do you usually get your pennies from? Did you ever encounter a bank that refused to cash them out? (I'm planning to get pennies sometime)
@CADRollHunter5 ай бұрын
I deal with all of the banks in one way or another. It has more to do with the staff/manager at the specific branch than it does with the actual bank brand. I haven't had a bank refuse to accept coins from me. The only time that happened actually, was when I wasn't actually a customer at that bank!

@CADRollHunter if it is actual dirt on there some warm water might already have good effect, if it's corrosion I wouldn't know what to do. So that would be interesting for me to watch and learn 😉👍
