Being a fan of this band for over 20 years has been a wild ride. Going from the grinding politico street punk from “How to Clean Everything” to where they are now as this incredibly technical thrash fusion was something to behold. And something to get used to. Supporting caste was such a departure. As fans we didn’t know what to do with it, but each album just sinks in and they get better and better.

Oh yeah. Less Talk, More Rock was leaps and bounds above How to Clean Everything, and Todays Empires, Tomorrow’s Ashes was miles above THAT! But yeah, Supporting Caste was(forgive the tired example LOL)LIGHT YEARS above all the rest. THAT record was different. Like TE/TA was but so much improved overall. UNTOUCHABLE. And that’s where a great records hight is measured against. No matter the genre. That’s a perfect record.

HTCE was one of the albums that shaped my formative high school years, and Ska Sucks was one of my first priorities to teach myself when I first picked up a Bass.

How to clean everything changed my life. It was a random buy in my teen years. I had heard so much about this band but never really gave um a listen. Then when I popped that CD in I probably listened to it on repeat 100 times in a row and have bought every Prop CD since and seen them live 5 or 6 times

I've got a suggestion... what if for the next full Propagandhi album listen through you bring one of your prog or metal musician friends along. Someone who hasn't heard them and maybe isn't into punk? Maybe a guitarist or someone who will look at it from a different angle. Could be fun to get their reaction.

There is also a really great podcast that has been breaking down Propagandhi song by song. It happens to be called Unscripted Moments. The band members have all been on and they are all just incredibly cool, thoughtful and generous people. I love them so much.

My old band Millhouse got to open for them here in San Antonio Texas for their Less Talk More Rock tour in the mid 90's, the original bassist John Sampson was still in the band .

I saw them in Denton on that tour! I don't remember the name of the venue. It got so hot that they took a 10 minute break for people to go outside and cool off. Chris decided to play the rest of the set naked, lol!

John K. Samson has gone onto front the weakerthans. Would be hilarious for a bass reaction to them if we all agree to not tell him what weakerthans sounds like, only letting him know it's a former member of propagandhi.

I like the way you break down the song and describe what makes each component great, not just the bass. I've listened to the song hundreds of times and never thought about the synced vocal hits, or the guitars hitting the vocal melody as a reason that makes this track so good. I think when I listen to Propagandhi I play a whole album and some of the elements that make a song great get lost because each song is so deep. Or I end up singing along to Chris and Todd... Either way it's fascinating that you're able open my eyes to a new way of appreciating a song I've listened to hundreds of times.

Theyre the best man. Literally. My favourite band along with Rush and Megadeth. They just utterly rip on every level and exceed most of the wealth the entire music industry’s lyrical contributions combined. And theyre massive Rush fans too. Neil, Geddy and Alex are so important in how well Propagandhi has always progressed. Its such an ideological conversation really. Because when truly examined (and trust - Prop have BEEN examined. Check out how many communities there are surrounding them) - there are few bands that play like they do. Its the rare sound of three dudes who have been together for over 30 years. You can’t rush it and you cant, ahem… script it either. Athankyew. Supporting Caste is the best punk album of all time. Not my words - Bill Stevenson’s.

Love that you love Propagandhi. It’s been my favorite thing to witness on your punk journey. When you get to Today’s Empires, Tomorrow’s Ashes, make sure you listen to the Remastered version. Fixed some really weird guitar and drum tones that the original release (which I still love) had. The remaster made it sound much more like Chris wanted it to and it’s now closer to their current sound, rather than being a tonal outlier.

Propag is just the one of those "can't do any wrong" bands. I can't wait for you to explore the older stuff to hear what you have to say, as you always have great comments. Another "can't do any wrong" band is A Wilhelm Scream. I really hope you'll go back to them someday. I know I suggested The King is Dead, but Skid Rock might be a better choice. I'm going to repeat a very old comment I did : nobody else will suggest this, but here's a "just trust me" suggestion : Oversight - Just a Word.
