Thoroughly enjoyed watching this interview. For all he has done and served time, he is a good role model for the young now. I hope he can talk to these young people who have no role model in their lives. Crime is rampant today and these kids need someone who has lived the life and paid for it and was able to turn his life around. Well done “Span” 👏👏💜

Spanian is a timeless character, he is a type Of counter intuitive role model society needs, he is raw and genuine been to the extremes of that life and humble enough to wear his mistakes on his sleeve while still being able to see past that experience with the extracted wisdom to tell his story...

Such a great podcast.. It's really good to see Spanian talking and interacting with a past hard cop without putting on the facade that he usually does in most of his videos.. Pure down to earth genuine gentleman.

I found this interview while looking for Gary Jubelin a brilliant detective that I learned about a few years ago. I'm a 72 year old white woman living in the rural Eastern Sierra of California. Divorced at 30, I'm single parent of two sons. Each son is also a single parent with two motherless children now ages 20 to 25. I watch them struggle and often feel sad for their future. Spanian's words give me hope for the evolution, even survival of mankind. Of course Spanian is aboriginal. Thank you for this great gift of hope. His mother too, sounds like an amazing being.

Gary , you're such a good listener . I aim to be the kind of person who (if I were in such a position ) could hear Spanian say "Everything that is done in the dark will come to light..." , and instead of saying "It was my job to bring things done in the dark to light " he says " Yeah , I think that's a great message " . That there is humility folks .

I must admit if you read my other comments I call him out on his shit talk but that last time his speaking about where he had enough. I actually witnessed him just purely self isolate and speak to only a handful of people for very brief moments and he had us all talking and thinking and amongst us were saying spainans a spinner these days what's wrong with him whys he going on like this and little did we no its just his had enough and sick of jail and everyone in it and I actually had the same feeling and experience in segregation at Bathurst I had just been searched randomly and was caught with a 10 inch spike aka shank and thrown in segregation for 2 and a bit mths and while in there I had a similar experience where I just cried and I said to my self what are you doing why are you wasting away so talented and can do anything I want and this is what I fucking want I couldn't believe it. It was just like someone shook me to wake me up out of a bad dream and from then on I had had enough of jail and grew a hate for it and everyone in it so yea that yarn I can relate with spainan and the other yarn I can verify because we watched unfold before our eyes

Hopefully this may help bring to light the brutal reality that a lot of our kids are faced with. I would have liked for them to cover the FPO briefly if at all to raise awareness. Could have left the ghost story at the end out but i don't wan't to be critical. Probably the best interview i have seen with Spanian to date. The honesty is refreshing.

Youre welcome to the fame, its a great way to build confidence and self worth then it becomes intrusive and you become owned by the public.1000s of people would like to be you Bro. Dont sweat it.
