One thing i love the most about your videos are theyre wholesome and not full of sponsors. With that being said, i think a gear breakdown video would be awesome. Id love to see the gear/rigs you use as well as your overall thought process when it comes to choosing spots and gear

I absolutely love this ‘subseries!’ Already before this quest you spoke a lot about dreaming of a big catfish. I thoroughly enjoy being part of the whole ‘figuring it out. Fishing in its purest form, off the shore, exploring and learning. Congrats on that fish!

I grew up just a few hours north of you and loved fishing. By far the most productive bait I used was Wheaties, crushed into a dough and stuck on a number four hook on a Carolina rig. I mainly caught carp and catfish. Rarest catch was a 5 lb goldfish.

The 2 hook rig you used to catch the 1st Flathead Catfish is called a Paternoster Rig - sinker below 1 or 2 droppers with a hook on each Cheers

Got home late and 618 posted a video and my day just leveled up. That spot has to have some big fish in it. Those baby flat heads are so cute with their mud camo patterns! They seem to lose most of that when they size up. That blue cat was nice too. I know that a monster fish is close!

Fantastic video mate, just some food for thought, on your big catfish rods have you thought about tying your sinkers on with some lighter breakaway line so if your sinker get snagged while fighting a big fish you just lose the sinker

Hey nick. Fishing deep holes on your kayak vertically with it boat will help. Also from the bank or boat or kayak fishing channel mouths where they empty a main body of water is a good spot too. Even if you don’t get bites having fresh cut shad down there the scent will travel and fish come through at some point.

From one shore fisherman to another. Upgrade your rod holders. Big cats will rip those little ones right out and be gone. Invest in a few Surf Rod holders. Good luck and rock on 🤘😎
@ethansimplot6644 ай бұрын
The best holders are the ones you make yourself. No need to waste money on surf holders your can make your own that are bulletproof

You may not like the distance, but I think you have found a spot that just might hold that triple digit flatty. I still worry about the terrain that you're fishing on for safety reasons if you hook into a triple digit and you might want to have a friend there and plan on a 2 night gig. Best of Luck Nick 🤙🏼🇺🇲🤙🏼
