She suffered from terrible abuse in her marriage and had to escape to a womens shelter with her child. Afterwards she struggled to make ends meet. She experienced the worst women can live through and made her way alone. Daniel Radcliff and Emma Watson seem like spoiled brats trying to be important.

The truth is you same as JK Rowling have no enough knowledge to talk about this matter, you talk about males and females as if they are two completely separate creations when the truth can't be more opposite, every fetus is a female, every man that has ever been born was a girl for the first 3-4 month of his life, because gestation from a female to a male happens in 3rd month of pregnancy if sperm that fertilized the egg had the Y chromosome otherwise babies carry on development as female, clithoris would mutate into the penis and so on, and boys still retain more than 50% of female genetic material, reason boys also have nipples, the point is... it is way more complicated than JK and you present it, because the male is to female what butterfly is to a caterpillar in some sense, men evolve literally from a female ... and that is biology for you, not some nonsense like the god created a man then used his rib to create a woman, it's the other way round male comes from a female ... knowing fact that male is a literal mutation from the female , and boys are girls that literally replaced /mutated some organs yet kept everything else explains trans people pretty well ... that's why there are intersex people because gestation from female to male sometimes does not get finished , one in 5000 babies is born intersex ... who decides what sex they are ? JK's magic Sorting Hat ? so yeah you could argue everyone is a female but women are not males

The nuance is the big part of that. Before this trans activism, we could reasonably say, "women only spaces and let the exception take care of itself." Unfortunately, that rule doesn't scale very well. But when everyone is trans or self diagnosed as trans and being trans is about whenever you feel like it, then we can't do that! We now have to lay out specific rules and that's not fair to the trans women who really are trans women.

@@TheRisky9 This right here. You said it more succinctly than I ever could. To my knowledge I never met a trans woman before 2020. Now they're everywhere, and they put in so little effort that calling them children playing pretend is insulting to the children and only serves to stoke their beliefs that children 'know' such things about themselves at that age. Some, those in genuine need of help and support, do. Most just want to be a dinosaur, princess, space cowboy, batman...and we should not start training them for a life of vigilantism in order to prevent 'harming' them.

What's really eerie here is what's happening to JK now, which is what happened to Sirius/Harry/Hermione/Hagrid in the G.o.F book. Sirius talks about how he was sent to Azkaban without a trial - guilty at first glance without even given the opportunity to defend himself or get the allegations looked into; Harry and Hermione were gossiped about because of Rita Skeeter's writings, as was Hagrid, and Hermione and Hagrid both were victims of hate mail because of people's preconceived notions of their supposed character. This was without warning and the kind of contentious evil things people say behind a wall of anonymity (like Twitter/X) just floors me every time. People talk about her like she's the scum of the earth like she's a new Hitler or something when her original tweets were very mild and basically harmless. I'm tired of the straw-manning stupidity of some of these arguments like she's getting trans people killed - Bull! Nobody decided to kill a trans person because they read a tweet from JK Rowling saying, "Sex is real." It is just a foolish mob mentality that JK actually warned against in her books. If you get a chance, check out the podcast - The Witch Trials of JK Rowling; it's really eye-opening.

J.K. Rowling did not have to say anything or get her hands dirty with this mess. She could have stayed in her ivory tower polishing her legacy and counting her money, above it all. The fact that she didn't do the safe thing, that she waded wholeheartedly into a nasty, mucky mess on the behalf of women and children around the world speaks volumes. The children she helped make famous of course aren't required to slavish repeat everything she says for the rest of their lives, but going out of their way to publicly virtue signal based on broken logic that flies in the face of facts says a lot about them.

She *didn't* have to keep standing up and fighting the issue after the first time they tried to knock her down. I never believed she should go to jail, but I may have been too ready to dismiss her as "Meh, just a celebrity with an opinion that happens to be unpopular".

@@Tiabliaj1989 I am most impressed that when the pitchforks came out she didn't back down and apologize (like WAY too many celebrities have done), she dug in and not only refuted the attacks but did so eloquently, with reason and (for anyone willing to listen) logic. She has held the line, giving others time to come around to reason, and without her pushback and the firestorm surrounding her, we'd be way further behind on turning the tide.

Not sure about this, chromosomes are somewhat flawed in this regard. Look into Colin Wrights stuff, he explains why chromosomes are not the exact way to determine sex. By just using XX XY we give them a chance to play a trap card and say "but what bout this chromosome disorder hmm?"(as there are many chromosome related disorders and xx and xy is not persistent in the animal kingdom). @@ridleyroid9060 But that's the thing though mate, those are *anomalies.* They aren't normal. Like Swyer syndrome, they present fully as a female despite having XY chromosomes. It's often not diagnosed until the girls fail to begin menstruating...and I'd still consider them girls, despite the anomaly of their chromosomes making them 'male'. I'd argue it's about nuance, as well as chromosomes. She was born with lady parts, while she did not choose those parts they make her a female...unless she doesn't 'feel' like a female on the inside. In which case, she's suffering gender dysphoria, the chromosomes win out and she's technically a he, and we talk about surgery or whatever. But at the end of the day what we all need to remember is that genuine gender dysphoria sufferers are a minority of the worlds population. Half of these pretenders who don't want to commit to passing as their preferred pronoun need to sit on their thumb and bounce until they get over themselves.

Rowling as author gets continued criticism from trans activists" - Fox News The URL for the variety headline contains "tom-felton-disses-jk-rowling-not-big-part-harry-potter-films" and google has indexed it as "Tom Felton Disses JK Rowling: She Wasn't Big Part of Harry ..." so someone at Variety originally wrote this headline as "Tom Felton Disses JK Rowling" which is completely untrue. The Fox News headline is also a misrepresentation of what he said but not as much. I thought that was interesting because it shows how much the media manipulates people. TRAs really ripped into him after the interview as far as I remember so I guess the Variety narative didn't stick with them.

biologically everyone is a female because every fetus is a female and boys literally gestate from a girl into a male in 3rd month of pregnancy, reason boys have nipples, after being born boys still retain more than 50% of female genetic material including nipples ... you could argue men are females but females are not males, that's why we have intersex people because sometimes gestation from a girl into a boy does not get finished ... so to what toilet will JK send intersex people ? will her magic sorting hat decide their sex? it is way more complex than JK presents it so yeah she is transphobic and fascist... she plays on people stupidity not to understand the biology behind how males are created ... and presents it as if males and females are 2 separate creations when the truth is male literally is a mutated girl that still retains more than 50 % of female genetic material ... it's not as white and black !

"Woman" is a multifaceted concept rooted in the sexually dimorphic reality of our species. Without adult biological females, "woman" would have no meaning. Transwomen can share in some of the facets of what it is to be a woman, mostly the aesthetics, as well as some of the male/female social dynamics that affect both parties, but at the end of the day they are always different. Transwomen are transwomen and women are women. This is just like the identity of "lesbian." Without homosexual females, lesbian wouldn't exist. If you're not a homosexual female, you're not a lesbian. I also hate it when these activists try to use intersectionality as an excuse to try to erase the differences. Both sides of intersectionality must be respected, even in this case. There's no other way to make this work.

(They especially think its true if they yell it really loud and threaten people) a trans woman is a trans woman. Why do they think trans is a dirty word? If you look at how the actors who played Draco or Neville handled questions about the issue it is a real eye opener. They maintained their own dignity while also respecting JK and without picking a side. The thing that guy said about what HP is about and how transpeople can relate to the story, made me laugh a bit. You don't have to be trans to see yourself in Harry, you just have to be human. Being trans isn't the only mental health struggle people deal with. I grew up with autism and ADHD, without anyone knowing. To say that I've felt like an alien my entire life would be an understatement and I have never felt at home within humanity. But when I got into the gaming-community and the writing-community, I felt like I had come home. Those two communities are places where I feel like I truly belong. Those places are my Hogwarts.

I would argue that she's not progressive, but rather a hypocrite. I do agree with her saying trans women are not women and trans men are not men, because that is indeed correct. You cannot change your biology. However! She never actually had Dumbledore as gay, she Said so. After the fact. And she did not have a black Hermione. Hermione was written and described as a White character. She did not take issue with a black actress being cast as Hermione in a play. Those two things are pandering. Not progressive. To be progressive, she would have written Dumbledore as gay, and Hermione as black.

'relating' to the character Harry Potter does not mean that one does believe in magic. It means that one understands and empathises with Harry's feelings and his character traits, it means thinking "if I would go through what Harry goes through I would feel the same" or "Harry felt X in this situation, I felt X in a similar situation". Because Harry is a human and acts human, and that makes him understandable, even if his world contents flying brooms, unicorns, magic prophecies and wizards with funny hats. Harry is an outcast who finds his own friends and family. I argue that it is not the transness that may make you feel an outcast, it is the feeling of not belonging - a feeling many people go through in puberty, be it out of transness or simply different interests and hobbies from their peers or alienation from their own developing body. Transgender people make all about their transness and not about their personality. So they don't understand that it is not transness what makes you relate to Harry, it is the really basic human feeling of looking for one's own spot in society after growing up someplace sh*t. It is quite universal and intercultural, and that might be one of the reasons HP was such a massive success worldwide. Of course the guy wears a slytherin robe, the "I AM SLYTHERIN"-HP-fans were the worst. They relish in being 'different' and in that, they are the most conformist.

It’s so easy for these men to say there’s no problem with biological men being in women spaces because they’ve never experienced the discomfort and fear of being a woman in a vulnerable situation. When a woman is changing her clothes or using the restroom we are vulnerable. Like it or not we can’t normally fight off a grown man and we need the protection of women’s only spaces. As always Marcus, you upload a banger. Recently I posted on my bio on instagram that I’m an advocate for biological women and that I’m not even remotely woke. A coworker that I have been cool with for a very long time posted an instagram story (didn’t even message me directly) to “Eat her ass because most of the people I worked with were LGBTQ and the transphobia is wild and that was the ‘last time she’s ever speaking to me.’” I also had another friend who recently told me “how disappointed she is in me for my views” and doesn’t talk to me anymore. This was a really good friend. Sometimes I get really sad for losing these friends but if they can’t accept my beliefs when I am accepting of theirs (even though I disagree) then maybe we shouldn’t be friends.

I think Radcliffe is right that he shouldn’t be expected to agree with everything JK Rowling said just because she’s basically responsible for his Hollywood career. At the same time I think the fact that he and Watson didn’t stand up to support her when there was a conscious effort to kick her off her own series for “transphobia” speaks ill of them. It would have taken very little effort for them to say something on the order of “I don’t agree with Rowling’s position on trans people, but the fact is she created the world of Harry Potter and deserves the accolades that come with it.” If you really don’t like Rowling’s position don’t buy Harry Potter stuff, there are plenty of other series out there. As someone who likes Harry Potter and is getting tired of trans activists threatening to boycott it over what Rowling has said all I can say to them is “Don’t let the door hit you on the butt on the way out.”
