We’ve all heard that we should wrap our BBQ in tinfoil or butchers paper to speed up the cooking process and keep it juicy. But what happens when we “wrap” in a powder? Today we put that question to the test using blue cheese powder and umami powder… This was a wild one!

One of the things I really enjoy about your videos is how you explain the anatomy of the animal to help explain the cuts of meat. It’s something I’ve never seen/had explained to me and you perfectly summarize where cuts are located, use cases for them, and how to clean them. Also the camera work and editing the last year has been stellar, great work Max & Sophia!

I have to say, the Editing, the HumoR and the also the information you provide about the cuts, are so you unique to your videos and it's quite amazing! And yeah why not use a Tuna slicer

Loved this video. Chuck roast can be very delicious if cooked properly. I do have a question. So, I thought the other test was to determine if the seasoning wrap added more flavor. Wouldn't the results be affected by seasoning them before they went into the smoker. Or am I wrong?

What did you do with the shells? I think they may do well in a beef stock for sauces or deglaze for veggies in a stew like a condensed base.

The powders are dried out ingredients so they'd act as dessicsnnts (sucking the moisture off anything so they can rehydrate themself).

Do it like how you would do salt baked fish or chicken; mix egg whites with the powder and create a batter to cover the meat up.

I have! My favorite flavor combination is olive oil, balsamic vinegar, garlic and rosemary. Also cumin sometimes. A good base for a marinade!

The shell will also radiate heat back into the roast, making it cook quicker and more tender compared to the butchers paper. 😉
