That first fish u caught at the 3rd spillway is actually a hibrid bass between white bass/ sand bass and striped bass people call it a whiper or a palmetto bass. the other fish that looks the same but is smaller is actually a really big white/sand bass

My favorite lure is a 5" grub on a darter head jig. Unbelievable all the species of fish you can catch on it. The darter head has a longer hook on it so the 5 " length doesn't effect hook up ratio.

Flathead amd blues on occasion as well. My on for the spot is 52 for a flat and 78 for a blue and blues are running right now. Just gently a buddy of mine got his on blue at over 40. I am surprised to see a bow down there though I doubt he'll love long. Temps are getting up there. I put out some videos too but I only USE my phone. Just t me if you want the directions on my latest vid. I'd rather not say my honey hole here. Solid stripper and channel. Love it when they hit both rods. Fish on.

Man the fact that you went down that drop off, set up the camera and climbed back up to go back down, that's dedication to the film content.

Nick, Hey your videos are great and your fishing techniques are awesome, can you give history of where and how these fish that are living in this environment arrived and thrived in the water systems that you fish in.

One of my favorites. Good work finding solitude in a crowded zone. Also, wear your fly gear..... they make nice hip waders and you won’t get wet. But your boots are classic

Just spent the afternoon and evening watching your fishing videos. Out here in the west we have trout, steelhead (a big sea run rainbow trout), and a couple of salmon species. Then we have the invasive bass and bream species. Of course we have the off shore fishing for anything that lives in the temperate waters of the eastern Pacific, which includes 18 shark species (from the small 8 inch catshark to the 40 feet long, basking sharks) , the sea run steelhead, Chinook, silvers, halibut, flounder and a bunch of others. My last fishing trip to the coast, I was after Dungeness crab near the mouth of the Siuslaw River. While my traps soaked, I threw my line out with some clam necks as bait. The first fish I caught was a blue shark (up to 10 ft. long.), about 30 inches long, that was inside the river mouth feeding. I caught three of them that day the largest was about 40 inches long. Not the easiest to reel in while on the fishing dock, about 8+/- feet (up and over the railing) above the high tide mark Did not catch any pink-eared sea perch, lost three hook sets and only got one keeper crab around midnight as I was pulling in my traps getting ready to drive the nearly 100 miles home. Watching your videos makes me want to get out and do another fishing trip over to the coast. Thank you for sharing your fishing adventures. Oh, my biggest catch weighed in at 94.5 pounds and was 6' 4" long, was about three miles off shore using a herring filet and drift fishing in about 70 feet of water. It took me all of 45 minutes to reel it in and landed.
