I have found that targeting carp and buffalo is a really fun way to fish. They fight really hard and get huge. I caught a common carp this year that was 17.5 pounds on a pack bait. Such a rush. Can't wait to catch another one.
@redneckwill721 Жыл бұрын
I really appreciate everything you do for us viewers I know it's hard sometimes but awarding other times
Fishing for the love of fishing, such a beautiful thing. Most ppl be killing carp, leaving them stinking on the shore. The respect for the power and fight of what most call a “rough fish” is awesome and followed by the famous “See Ya Later Buddy” is inspiring. Keep up the good work

Hi Nick. I 'm a 618 Fishing enthusiast from Athens, Greece. Although I rarely fish in freshwater, I like very much your videos and I admire your passion for fishing. I hope you will allow me to do a well-meaning comment. I think that would be more effective for you and more convenient and attractive for fish to pass your hook from the shrimp tail, through the bait body and leave the hook point out from the flesh (or the head, if you don't cut it, giving an more convincing result). I know that your way stabilizes better the hook point and makes more difficult for the fish to take the bait, but sometimes forces the fish to take the hook from the eye instead of the point. Keep on fishing my friend, I love your channel and I can hardly wait for your next video! And congrats for your new PB!

Great vid! I'll never understand why carp get such a bad rep in the fishing community, they're one of the hardest fighting fish that you can find pretty much everywhere and they're relatively easy to catch. I know they aren't really eater fish but neither are most bass species and those are held so highly in the minds of fishermen especially in the US. Glad to see you so excited to catch them! Tight lines and wet nets brother
@fishlessfisherman1539 Жыл бұрын
They are a invasive species. They shouldn’t be thrown back.
@colbyragland909 Жыл бұрын
@@fishlessfisherman1539 asian carp such as silver and big head carp yes, i 100% agree. Common carp while technically invasive dont wreck ecosystems like those other species do and they dont repopulate nearly as fast or as plentiful. Common and grass carp should be thrown back and asian carp species like big head and silver shouldnt. Thats just my opinion though
@kennybaumann2117 Жыл бұрын
@@colbyragland909no it's not just your opinion it's the law here in Oklahoma. You can catch a heavy fine and possibly lose you your licence for not killing them. Common carp and grass carp are part of natural ecosystem but are being pushed out by the BH and Asian carp. We did a trip in the spring just to target invasive species(they are still a blast to catch). Between the 3 of us we caught 68 fish in 2 days. We gutted them and threw them about 10ft up of the shore line. The second day fishing we went by and most of them were gone, so we did the same the second day. When we went by the 3rd day the shore was picked clean. We kept all of the egg bags in salt brine and when weighed 21lbs. The game warden said that was potentially 80,000 fish. Now you know why you are required by law to kill them.
@colbyragland909 Жыл бұрын
@@kennybaumann2117 thank you for educating me, didnt know that was part of the law.
@krystofstihel Жыл бұрын
common carp definitely are eater fish :) in my country, carp is a traditional x-mas meal. Quality of their meat is based on quality of the watter in their habitat and on their diet. For example, if carp feeds on freshwatter clams and other small freshwatter creatures, their meat is really tasty.

Awesome carp, I'm actually sitting on the bank of Toledo bend fishing for carp right now. For future reference try not to use fish grips as they can easily damage the fish.

TV Bait Shrimp is a very underrated bait. I used to catch tons of channel cats with my uncle on that bait back when I was a kiddo.
@carassiuscarassius140 Жыл бұрын
4:40 I’d recommend you hook the shrimp the other way around (hook point coming out the back). Your way clearly catches fish, but I think the tail is masking the hook and you could have more hookups if you avoided that. Especially when fishing for carp, which suck in the bait and spit it out again as soon as they feel anything weird
@briansilverwood8892 Жыл бұрын
I have used shrimp many times for catfish. Uncooked, shell-on that has been sitting out for a few days (to get the right "smell" is the key. If you are still having issues keeping it on the hook, a little peanut butter or the like helps. Not too much because you want to keep the scent as much as possible. Carolina or off the bottom (8-12 inches) works best depending on the water you are in.
