It's fascinating how porter releases music when we need it most. I can't wait to hear this song live chanting with the crowd "I want to live, I don't want to die!"

yea i was having fun with the song and smiling until like 3:40 (3:59 in this video), then i started crying the hell out of me for like 10 minutes next really hits when you think about what had happened in the past and put it with the lyrics, then remember that a lot is about to happen in the future as well: you will lose your parents to time, you might marry your significant other, you might lose your phone etc. etc. we just don't really think about it in the moment. but that is so beautiful. you'll end listening, you'll go on with your life, but there will be more moments when you just sit like this, listen to the song, listen to yourself and start to value things and thinking about how you've changed from what have happened to you lately.

when the song came out, i was on an overseas trip amd even though i desperately wanted to listen to it, i held back as all i had was shitty earbuds. So i waited, and waited, and waited for 20 days. The day i first listened to it on my pc with my headphones made me feel that the wait was so well worth. The final lines of i wanna live i dont wanna die resonated with me so much that i couldnt stop crying. TLDR : This song slaps harder than a nuke

I saw the Outer Wilds sticker on your laptop and, honestly, while they are two completely different media, both that game and Porter's music -- particularly this track -- hit that soft spot that is whatever home is to us, and simultaneously bring so much peace. I just got off a really long shift so I'll come back later and make sure this makes sense haha

There’s two pieces of media I wish I could relive for the first time again. Playing Outer wilds with my brother and listening to Worlds. Just like you, both the game and porter’s music are extremely close to me. I know how you feel man, hope the shift wasn’t too bad. Cheers from florida brother 🙏🏼

I ended up cry to this my first time hearing it as well for the same reason you gave about your cat. My cat is the sweetest little girl ever and she is 12 years old right now so I know I'm almost out of time with her... That's why I ended up crying at "I wanna kiss my cat one more time" I'm just not ready!!!😭

I can relate to you that Porter drops the right songs we need to hear in that certain chapter of our lives. I just went through a really difficult heartbreak and both "Cheerleader" and "Knock yourself out XD" came out and I cannot explain how many times those songs pulled me out of the dark place i was in. Suddenly when my life started to pick up its pace and I was able to reflect and smile again. Porter drops this and it really sets so much meaning and emotion to me. We love you Porter Robinson! ❤

I really resonate with what you said about how timely his music is. It makes me feel like I'm not alone. He has this uncanny ability to tap into our collective experience. Every album upon release has been a perfect backdrop for whatever stage in life I've been at.

Yes omg I found this song extremely emotionally resonant, especially with some recent circumstances. Porter really has a knack for tapping into my psyche and putting out exactly the song I need at the time ❤️ Needless to say, this song has already been on repeat since I saw it was released. I loved the Sad Machine references too. The beat is catchy and it’s wild how varied the lyrics are. There’s some really heartfelt and poignant lyrics in here but we also have the fun and silly funny monkey pissing into his own mouth 😂 Life is truly multifaceted! I for one really appreciated your honest and emotional reaction and analysis. And yes there’s a lot of things I take for granted that Porter highlighted in this song 🥺 my mom passed recently, so I won’t be able to see her one more time. But I definitely did say thank you to my dad. You kissing your cat was so sweet 🥰 Yes I’m very excited for Smile!

I feel like lowkey this should’ve been released with the album instead of a single , but I feel like from what I’ve heard this is the best song of the album ( haven’t listened to all of it yet ) the drops after the chorus makes so much more fun & the last was so impactful 9.5/10

What you said about how it seems porter releases music at the same time you're going through something that relates to one another is so real. I was in a rough spot in college during quarantine and I was feeling bad about myself and what I was doing and then he released nurture and it could not have come at a better time. Funny enough the same thing happened with blink-182 and One More Time. That album seemed to release when I was feeling a certain way and it hit me hard. They're both my favorite band/musicians so it really all came together beautifully. It's so crazy how much music moves us emotionally

When I first listened to the song I thought the final "I want to live!" was a little too quiet, but with time I've realized it's as loud as it needs to be. Not too bombastic and over the top, really natural, it's pretty good. Though I do appreciate a loud glass shattering declaration to keep on living
