The part of Kevin's brain that coordinates multitasking must be madly overdeveloped. Like the others when they are performing live, he's not only thinking about & performing his own parts. They all must listen to each other to help stay on beat & key. That means just doing one instrument or vocal part in a group is already multitasking 2 things. But in songs like this he is essentially doing 2 instruments at once (his voice for beatboxing or singing plus playing the cello) while also constantly staying in sync with the others. I really don't understand how his brain can be processing input & output for all 3 things at one time with no mixups. Even with multiple practice sessions it seems like it would be an impossible task for most people. Then you watch his cover of Down & 😮. Watching him do his arrangement like that in one take is just amazing. He could just record himself doing the different parts & then layer them together in the studio, but no he does his recording all at once just like it's a live show & makes it look easy.

If you watch closely in Hallelujah he's essentially keeping 4 beats at one time. He's doing one with his feet, one with his mouth, and each hand is doing a different beat. Its insane!

I completely LOVE this version of the song. I was never a fan of the Lady Gaga/Bradley Cooper version (it was hard to miss after Star is Born came out). But watching two life-long very close friends like Scott & Kirstie sing this to each other with so much emotion is pure pleasure. They pull it off so much more powerfully than two movie actors would EVER be able to do.

I am so sorry for your loss. Music is the soundtrack of life. It means so much at times like these. It can bring joy, it can make us feel sentimental, etc. When my mom passed away, while I was driving home from the hospital, the song "One Sweet Day" (beautiful song) by Mariah Carey/Boyz II Men played on the radio. I broke down crying, even more than I already was. I truly felt my mom sent that song to me. I don't know what we would do without music during the good times and the hard times. Oh, I'm so happy you've done the reaction on this. I'm a HUGE fan of both ptx and Lady Gaga and I'm so excited about existence of this cover. "Shallow" is a song that kills me every time I hear it. I start crying and can't stop myself. It's a lot about my inside feelings and fears, and it hits me strongly. I'm a person who believe that nobody sings Gaga's songs better than her, but ptx is another thing. I love everything in this cover. I love leading parts of Scotty and Kirstie, Matt's base, Kevin's genius playing and beatboxing and OF COURSE Mitchie's chest notes😍 And the emotions they show is very powerful. When you live long enough, death surrounds you. All of my grandparents (3 sets) are long gone, but by now a few aunts, uncles, and even my own (biological) mother (all in the 60-75 age range) have shuffled off the mortal coil as well, as recently as 2 years ago. Plus a couple of friends and younger cousins. Given the thread of cancer that runs though my family history I don't expect to live past 60...that's less than a decade away for me. Life goes on, grief fades, and there is so much out there left for you to experience. Experience it while you can, and revel in it.

i like Shallow also and this is a different spin on it. the singer if Floor Jansen, she's Dutch and sings with a symphonic metal called Nightwish. she is extremely versatile and can sing pop, metal and even a little opera. even if you don't do a reaction you might like her version

Is it just me, or does it sound like Scott made his voice into a totally different instrument for this song?( Kirstin, too. Makes me wonder if they did something in production to make this sound darker.) He has a certain openness most of the time - keeping the sound forward, toward the front of his mouth - and here it's a darker, more covered, more careful sound, keeping most of the vowels to the back of his palate.
