Hannah: I hope you see this comment. I am always impressed with your initiative and sense of adventure. I love your videos and you have truly inspired me! I also love the idea of an awning style window to provide additional venting while showering. However, as an architect I would be remiss if I didn't say something about the framing around the window. A few things to bear in mind: The header does not just provide framing for the window. It is intended to transfer the load of the studs you cut. The vertical members in the wall provide support to bear the weight above them and disperse that load. That's why they're placed 16" OC. When you cut them in the middle you "short circuit" that. My suggestion would be to double both the header and sill, as well as sister studs to the two intact studs either side of the opening. (Sistering is doubling or tying two studs together). It is not always necessary to double the sill but, I believe you are planning to tile and the backer board and tile add extra weight. Also I would sister in vertical pieces above the window opening and below it. You are working on an exterior load bearing wall. So you may want to add a bit of blocking to the studs either side of the opening and on the perpendicular walls to provide a bit more support for your backer board and tile. Blocking is added at random heights from stud bay to bay. Meaning if your wall is 9 ft high, you might place your first horizontal block (2x4) at 4'-6" above the floor in the first bay, go one bay over and place the next block 6'-9" above the floor, then drop down below center (4'-6") in the next bay to say 2'-3". I know this was a bit long-winded but didn't want to provide a partial explanation. Hope this helps!❤ Can't wait to see what idea you come up with next!!

Good job girl. Remember that the window sill has to be flashed, etc, outside so that rain can run off and not down inside the wall. There are KZbin videos that will show you how. It's always a pleasure to watch people with imagination and common sense that create/build/repair.

I've heard that replacing some or all of the milk with lemonade helps them become fluffy. Something about the bubbles. Worth a try, but honestly there are so many recipe ideas for scones online. I think the best tip is written below about not kneading the dough too much . Mix just enough to combine the ingredients. All the best 💖💖

Main rule of scones, keep the butter and dough cold! Like Croissants and American biscuits, 9/10 it’s the reason scones don’t rise and go flakey enough. Keep em cold until they go into the oven. I actually put the butter and flour in a blender to prevent it melting in my hands, like pastry. (National trust also has a “goof proof” scone recipe if it helps). Much love from the Brits.

Wow you did an awesome job on the window! My first time adding a window to a cabin was far from that successful. My mind was elsewhere, and I cut the opening a couple inches too big on either side, resulting in having to build back more, which is so much harder. It all worked out and at least I tried. But one of my biggest building mistakes. The cabins are such a dreamy property, look forward to future videos there as you fix things up.

I love you, Hannah! I am sick, one of my cats is really sick and I am totally overwelmed by my life. Into this pops sunny Hannah with your love of life and can do attitude and I feel better. Thank you, I really needed you this morning. God bless.😊

Similar situation, here, with my Old Girl Mochachina. Just got her some thinly sliced rare boarshead roast beef coz she wasn’t eating and she woofed it down. And Hanna’s Video just lightened up the day! Thankyou, Hanna!

Under the paint that's left on the window, the wood matches the rest of the house. You could strip the paint and then apply a sealer to keep the window frame in good shape. I think it would look great!

You mam, are amazing!!! You not only have the creative vision but the insane talent to bring it to life!! You literally just installed a giant window by yourself and it looks SO GOOD!

The window looks amazing with the fairy lights leading to the outhouse you won't have a black wall back there but the nicely light path. Can't wait to see it working in the summer. ✨✨✨✨✨
