Don't be in rush to get back on the bike before your wrist is rehabbed. After breaking my wrist it took a couple of months of P.T. before it was strong enough to ride. I wear a wrist brace now for protection from future crashes.

I broke my sacrum (the big bone right above the tailbone) a few years ago and I can still remember how much that hurt. It really is the worst place to break something because it's right in the middle of your body so you feel it with every movement you make. I can't imagine trying to make it through a 13 hour flight with a break like that. It would be agony! I'm glad you had a good time in Japan with your family though. I think that's really helpful in the healing process.

It is not worth it to go to Japan unless you stay for at least 4 weeks. 6 weeks is better. I have camped before but I do not recommend this during summer- it is too humid. On Tokashikijima the little crabs came out at night and tried to scratch the outside of my tent in order to get in. I could not sleep. Kamakura area was nice for riding bicycle, but my GPS maps were a little bit wrong. I love Yakushima because the hiking is good. I had some shika pizza too. Lawson is a wonderful convenience store no matter where you find one. The train stations often have some pretty good food too. Big train stations are like a maze but almost always have a coffee shop such as Mr Donut. I had a kinako latte. Yummy!

For those of you who don’t know, Gunma isn’t a city, but a whole prefecture. I think the problem would be that Gunma is so rural naming a city or village for that matter would be giving away too much info as they are so small. Interesting side fact: Gunma is so rural and with that so different from other parts of Japan that some Japanese say you need a passport to travel there. I love the place!
@VanGirlYuka Жыл бұрын
Have you visited Konnyaku Park (こんにゃくパーク) or Mentai Park Gunma (めんたいパーク群馬)? Japanese create such weird them parks🤣 I would've gone there if I didn't get COVID...

@@VanGirlYuka I’ve been to konyaku park and the safari park on my way to a seminar once. I totally ruined my stomach though 😓 I kinda blame it on konyaku ramen and レバ. Next time I hope I’ll have the chance to visit the mentai park. Also, while I was working in Gunma they took me to where 原田ラスク is made and where kokeshi are crafted. So there actually is a lot to do in Gunma and all the onsen!! Now I feel a bit „homesick“ (even though home is actually Germany).

I'm going to Osaka ta the end of February, I here you can't use the washrooms in the airport till you clear customs and they change the app process. Any tips for a smooth flight ✈️ Vancouver to Narita beside bring a subway sandwich on the plane 😀 it's a long flight. Happy to see your doing better
@VanGirlYuka Жыл бұрын
I didn't look for the washroom after getting off the flight, but the app was annoying! It was more like the airport WiFi wasn't working well, so it took time to open the app. However, it was before they changed to the new app process, so I hope it's better than before! I flew to Hong Kong from Vancouver first, that's why it was a longer flight. For you, it will be a little shorter. I'm not sure where you're headed after the airport, but getting a train ticket was hard for me. I totally forgot how to take trains🤣 Having some cash is always a good thing in Japan. Have fun✨
