Good on the 4 of you for coming together to properly get the correct information out to all of us that are interested in improving. I have used Swhacker #207's and the #202 broadheads in the past and getting pass through shots on whitetails. Same thing when I shot Levi's 100gr and 125gr version. No issues other than not having 100% complete confidence like Rick does. There's a chance that 1 or maybe both blades don't deploy correctly. Not likely to happen, but it is possible. A fixed blade takes that variable out of the equation. So, I'm currently back shooting the 125gr Stinger Buzzcut 4 blade. Until I can afford some Iron Will single bevel's. I think pairing some 125gr Iron Will's with some Victory RIP Elite 300's would be a sweet setup.

I shoot the 275s with the 4 mm match grade axis however, I mark my arrows with the dynamic spine so all of them come out of the bow exactly the same I can hit the same hole and I give a lot of credit to the Tac Vanes. I’m also running the titanium 50 grain inserts with match grade field points. There is a reason they have a five spot target and this is it. And this has solved the millimeter issue for me. I practice out the 110 but I don’t kill anything past 60.

This is what is great about choices and different people. Some guys grab some stock Gold Tips with Blazers and Thunderhead 125's and kill bulls and bucks every year. Some guys fiddle with many variations of arrows, fletchings, broadheads, etc. and also kill bulls and bucks every year. Tac vanes have some pros and cons for me. I have 6 or so arrows still 4 fetched with the 2.25" driver vanes. They were pretty quiet, especially compared to a bohning blazer vane. With them being 4 fletch, they steered the arrows very well. The cons for me would be that they don't adhere great. I've had a ton of them come off the arrows. Thats with wiping down the arrows, using the tac primer pen, and tac glue. Another major flaw is vane memory. If you blow through your target be ready to refletch your arrow. These vanes are terrible about stretching and not going back to normal. I ran them for 2 years and they work great when they work. Just got tired of refletching.

Might be hard to watch this. Seems, at face value a couple minutes in, there’s a lot whining on one side and walking back on the other. Fact is, TAC vanes are hard to get to stay on a arrow. Everybody knows it. All the primer this, adhesion that, it’s stupid. Somebody from TAC once proudly posted they had 13 pages of FAQ’s regarding their vanes sticking to an arrow on their website. 13 pages?! My response was and is if you need 13 PAGES to explain gluing a vane to a arrow shaft, the vane is the problem. Hope there isn’t some kiss and make up sponsorship after this. I’ve been shooting swhacker broadhead (Levi Morgan edition) for the past few years, taken 4 bucks. I love them. Great penetration and devastating cuts. Everyone of them went down within sight, max distance they ran after was 50 yards and it was on the last one i shot, he was quartering away so i only hit 1 lung. 1st buck i shot swung his head around to look at my buddy who was filming so i ended up hitting him in the neck. Arrow went through the right side of his neck out the left and through the the right side of his body and hit both lungs, he didn’t go far. Best part about them is the accuracy, I can confidently swap out field points for broadheads and know I’m going to hit wherever my pin is when i shoot. (I do love broadhead tuning and the locking pin feature is really cool because you can practice with the broadhead you want to hunt with, but sometimes if i dont have the time to prep i can still go out). Overall i am very confident with these broadheads and will continue to use them.

I'm not gonna say what he looks like . But to keep it as clean as I can. He's not happy about being called out period. Even in their testing video he tried to build stuff up bigger and better , and Levi at least kept it on a level. Me personally, don't think the broadhead is all that, and if you don't get a complete pass through , it will cause tracking issues as mfjj stated. As far as the group testing at 100 yards, blazer was clearly the tighter group, but Rick just kept on talking about how tighter the Tac vane was. Not the case from the pics I saw. But all this is pointless and irrelevant anyway. Who hunts at a 100 yards. I haven't found a vane or a broadhead that wouldn't get the job done for the average whitetail distance of what?, 20, 30 yards. I know the Tac 3.75 is the worst vane I've ever had on an indoor arrow. Even with primer pin and glue, some didn't stick well, and even with them in my quiver , after a couple weeks, the vanes, rippled, bent, and rolled and just looked like crap. I cut them off and went back to the 4" AAE . The vanes or broadheads are clearly just not as superior to everything like they were made out to be. He can sit there blowed up if he likes. But that's just my opinion

Is there a list of what are the most accepted tests for arrow flight and broadheads? There needs to be a standard so that we can get good comparisons from test to test and start getting better information on archery hunting equipment
@austinhall593311 ай бұрын
Not really possible, there's so many variables that it's nearly impossible to isolate one variable. Change breadhead? It isn't as ideally tuned as it can be. Best fletching? How many? At what speed? At what offset? There's simply too many variables, even down to the bows powerstroke to make meaningful, broadstroke, comparisons. Unfortunately, we all have slightly different setups so we need to tinker. There us no "best" just a best compromise in a given situation, which is yet another variable.
@evi20832 ай бұрын
So yeah from what I am getting from this is that they changed equipment in the middle of tests and that would mean none of the test data is legitimate. You can't go from a drop away to a wisker biscuit and call the data consistent.

I think Levi and Rick are good dudes, but when watching videos about their products versus others, there often feels like some hesitation from Rick to speak highly about other products that do well. It shows on their TAC vane video, as well as their Swhacker LRP video. I get it, it’s business. But it doesn’t feel 100% honest from Rick. Levi seems to be more honest, but he does seem to play up the good parts of the products he endorses more than others.

I think you both made valid points based on the information provided by the video. The fact that Levi and Rick got emotionally offended and upset over unbiased criticism of what was if we're being fair a video biased towards their product speaks more towards their own emotional immaturity. You should have left the video up Dan and let your viewers decide for themselves. Sometimes you hurt people's feelings, Dan, and sometimes people get hurt not because your comments were mean or unfair, but because they were accurate observations. Im sure you had good reason to take the video down (legal issues?), but imo this is a problem within the hunting/archery community. On one hand its good to see people coming together instead of tearing each other down. We all want to see that. On the other hand it speaks to the issue of everyone knowing each other and not being able to criticize without backlash, regardless of accuracy. Burning bridges ruins reputations and opportunities with manufacturers. From the outsiders perspective this boils down to getting in good with the typical 'good ole boys club' or risk getting dragged through the coals for speaking out (see RanchFairy). In the future I'm sure we'll see something like this come out before more of the first video, which is good, but its a little disheartening to see you can't call BS without getting some form of retribution from it.

After working with engineers for a decade... someone stating they are an engineer as a qualifier means nothing to me. Sorry, just how i see it

Dude, I wish you hadn't bent to the whims of Levi Morgan. You are all about united archery not divided. Levi is not. He has proven that time and time again. If he doesn't agree with you, you are blocked, regardless of how respectful you might be. You reviewed the video they launched with a critical lens, and regardless of mistakes being made for inaccuracies or whatever, bottom line is, this guy didn't agree with you, and muscled you into changing your opinions, and bending to his whims. I mean, good for you, which is why I'll never stop following ElkShape, because, you are making things "right" in your eyes. But I can't get behind anything Levi does anymore. I disagreed with that guy one time. Did so respectfully, and he completely blocked me, despite my reaching out to make my own form of apology, because I saw another one of your united not divided videos, and I felt bad I had maybe burnt a bridge. However, I didn't do anything wrong, or disrespectful, and despite that, I tried to appeal to him and argue united and not divided. I was ignored. Then I saw this.. their video is biased no matter how you spin their testing. Period. They shouldn't have edited the video the way they did if they didn't want these claims to be made in the first place. You shouldn't have to defend a truthful video. You said yourself. You rarely take down content or edit content after the fact. Because even if you mess up, you just correct it and apologize. You don't bully someone else into changing their content because they disagree with you. This is an example of someone in the industry just throwing the weight of their name around. Again, no less respect for you or what ElkShape does, but I'm disappointed that a guy like Levi Morgan has enough clout to make you feel you needed to change anything. I don't think you did anything wrong in the last video. You should be able to have a differing opinion from other people without it being a huge deal.
