Its really not all that satisfying as most might think... It's like how you cant starve yourself before an eating competition cause it actually wont make you eat more food. Not eating or "fasting" will cause your stomach to start shrinking, to a certain extent. So after long periods of not eating, its not as if you will be able to just sit down and consume a big ass meal... in fact, its quite the opposite, after fasting for days straight, you'll only be able to consume small portions of food at a time until your stomach gets used to eating larger quantities of food as your stomach starts to expand back to its original size.

I have done a 7 day fast a couple of times before, day 3 is the hardest, after that it gets pretty easy, you don't feel hungry anymore but you start feeling weak. The coolest part is smelling the foods you didn't know have a smell, like the smell of rice and potatoes. I could literally identify all the ingredients being used when someone was cooking in the next room. I broke my seven day fast with rice and water soup, no seasonings. It was delicious.

Meal prep a weeks worth of food for Family. Doesn't have to be microwaved. I know as foodies that won't fly at all. But we have a vacuum sealer for food. We can portion out meat....maybe even certain veggies. Make a carb thats mostly plain and can be adapted to any meal (rice, potatoes). Have some sauces or seasonings ready. A lot of the body building diets are boring af. I still eat chicken breast and a reasonable portion of naturally occurring carbs.....I can doctor up what I want....Greek, Mexican, Asian.....also grilled food is easy to do, tastes great, and doesn't require extra calories like pan frying. We have a smokeless indoor grill the kids can cook their own meat too.

Hey yes theory!! I don’t normally do this and it’s rare I’m sure that you guys read these things but my name is Evan elrod and I was shot and paralyzed on April 26th of this year, I’ve always been insanely active and always been in love with taking chances and getting out of my comfort zone, since being in a wheelchair i mildly sunk into an unsocial state of mind that I hated, but now after months of recovery I’ve started to get back to my old self! I watched your guys videos all thru out my time in the hospital and even if it sounds cliche, being in one of your guys videos would be a dream come true for me! Evan keep on pushing. I was in bad accident myself 3 years ago spent 3 months inside a hospital. My family and I not knowing if I would live, walk or talk again. But I can I am doing all those things. I have been in that slump and it's hard to lift yourself up but what continues to motivate me is that I have shown myself I am stronger than I gave myself credit. Remind myself what little steps I have made yesterday that I didn't or couldn't the days before. Have great friends or a support group you can talk to outside your family. For me I learned to love life and honestly cherish every moment I have with family and friends.

My mother used to do this and always told me, that she felt great after about 3-4 days. She said, as soon as her bowels were completely empty, the hunger would subside and she felt an amazing clarity in her head and renewed energy in her body. Ive never tried, but if correctly done, the benefits seem to be amazing.

I did 10 days only water. Stayed away of cigarettes, sugar, fats, coffee, beer and everything. The first 4 days where like hell but on day 5 I started to realize how amazing a human body can compensate everything. Just reading books, drinking water and sleep whenever my body needs it. People thought I am 18 years old when I met them after my fastening but no I am in my mid 30s. Skin clear, no problems with irritations anymore, crystal clear mind and no need for domesticated drugs. It changed my perspective and I love it. Doing it once a year just to feel the same amazement and to see the benefits again.

I am doing great, just a past experience that brought the thought into my mind. Hopefully the others that see this and relate can get better and get to eating again. Also, I so agree that different people react differently. Some may not eat for a while, some may over eat. I can verify everything that you went through while doing this. I did a 7 day fast, and I can attest that the first three days are the worst, without a doubt!! You never realize just how many food commercials are on the TV... it is excruciating. But, getting to the 4th day and beyond you feel that you could do another week. I didn't, but the thought came through my mind.

This guy made the number one mistake most people make when engaging in a long term fast.... he didn't take a multivitamin or at the very least he didn't consume potassium salt. The reason he started having heart palpitations and suffering muscle cramping and pain in his gut was his electrolyte ratios were becoming severely unbalanced. Drinking nothing but filtered water for 5 days can cause severe health complications, your body will run out of salt and potassium very quickly, and you can die from hyponatremia, aka Water poisoning. If nothing else, always put alittle pottasium salt into the water you are intending to drink in a total fast to prevent you accidentally triggering either a heart attack from potassium depletion or kidney failure from salt depletion.
@Phoenixesper13 жыл бұрын
@Islam and the life here after If the only thing you are consuming for 5 days is pure distilled water, yes it absolutely can kill you. While there is some potassium and sodium in the bones and teeth, it is not readily leeched into the blood stream like calcium and magnesium is. To sum up, the electro-chemical systems of your body runs on basically the same principle as a car battery. The salts present in your blood and tissues is the electrolyte that facilitates electrical signaling between high and low electrical potentials. As such, flushing that electrolyte out can cause your heart to malfunction, your kidneys can shut down, your nervous system to collapse, or my personal favorite, the cells of the brain can swell with fluid and literally crush your brain to death in a process called encephalitis. So to sum up, if fasting, either through a dash of salt into your water or take a multi vitamin and never ever fast on only distilled water!

@@Phoenixesper1 how are you such an expert on this? Genuinely asking.
@Phoenixesper13 жыл бұрын
@@markhill8150 I've worked in and around the health and medical field for well over a decade. And I've done my fair share of fastings, my longest being 7 days with no food, only water and tea, that one sucked and I now only fast for a maximum of 3 days when I need to prepare to go on keto. otherwise I practice intermittent fasting where I go 18-24 hours between meals every day, which I have been doing for years. So I know a thing or two about the subject.
@daddelfisk3 жыл бұрын
@@Phoenixesper1 a couple of years ago i did 7 days on only water and black coffe. I also took vitamins. From what i can remember day 2 was hell, day 3 and onward was a breeze. Think i could have gone longer then 7days. But i missed the taste of food in the end.
@Phoenixesper13 жыл бұрын
@@daddelfisk The benefits of fasting falls rapidly after 5 days and you get diminishing returns from then on. Truth be told if your fasting you should perform some compound strength baring exercises, either with weights or simple body weight. squats, push ups and pull ups are ideal. The reason is that when your body enters ketosis, it will cheat and scavenge the body for carbs, predominately to feed the brain. after 3 days of total fasting virtually all blood, muscular and liver reserves of glucose are spent. So it will go for the only source it has left, break down muscle tissue into glucose. The only way to combat this is to weight train to encourage the production of HGH, human growth hormone, which will radically slow down the breakdown of muscle for glucose, as hgh alerts the liver to release repairing compounds for muscle rebuilding and halt catabalization. But after about 5-7 days, HGH starts to lose out to survival and slowly more and more muscle will be catabalized and broken down into sugars. And since the body doesn't care where the sugar comes from it breaks down all muscle simultaneously... including the heart. So be mindful and aware there are risks the longer one fasts but 5-7 days is in the realm of safe and effective.

I remember when I worked 17 hours a day, I would be so hungry that I couldn't even sleep. 1 meat a day in-between both jobs. I got lucky if I slept 2.5 to 3 hours a night. I did it for 4 months until I paid off all my credit cards working two minimum wage jobs. I learned my lesson. Now I'm an electrician and I don't ever need to worry about minimum wage again 🙌🙏

I’ve done the water fast twice this year. It’s completely manageable and teaches you great self-control. You get to use all the extra time that would usually be spent on planning meals, preparing, eating, or snacking food for something else. I would recommend everyone try it at least once in their life.
