One of the biggest reasons people eat a junk food diet rather than a healthy diet is because they don't know how to cook. Learning to cook will automatically make your diet better because there's no need for instant food anymore.
@crooksteezy6231
@crooksteezy6231 2 жыл бұрын
@@hannahumana1906 on top of that, it’s easier to go through a drive thru and have food in 2 minutes vs cooking a balanced meal that can take a lot of preparation and time to cook. Not to mention the fact that a combo at McDonald’s is about $7 vs going to the grocery store and spending $20-30+ on everything you’d need for a good meal (at least that’s how it is in America)

Other youtubers have done this before, for example i think i've seen a video from both Stephanie Buttermore and erikthelectric or one of them and conclusion was that your body maintains very delicate balance SO WELL that a day, a week or even multiple months of eating bad doesn't necessarily alter anything in your body and if it does, it does it at such a tiny fraction which very soon before you know it is back to normal levels.

Doesn't matter as much, I mean one week isn't suddenly gonna reverse everything, Ammar's bloodproteins that is bind to sugar (HBA1) is still higher than someone's HBA1 who eats healthy. however it's a start.

fun fact, in my country eating fast food are still considered "cool" by majority of the people, mom often bring their kids to fast food places to celebrate their kids achievements for example, it emits prestige vibes if you eat there, because it's modern, western, and for a price of a set of big mac you can literally have enough to buy 3 days worth of fresh from the farm ingredients.

I had to crash healthy eating because my health was getting worse, and some days I was just starving, but I lost five pounds in a few weeks. It's worth it, you'll feel better and look better in just a few months. And I felt amazing when I got the recommended 8 glasses of water a day! Try again!

Never? What about smoking? Or alcohol? And if cutting those out entirely isn’t bad, what’s so special about sugar? You can eat sugar if you want to, and obviously moderation is better than indulgence. But you do not *need* sugar, and sometimes complete abstinence is easier than moderation. It is a matter of choice and what works for the individual.

So glad I watched this. I was so fit last year. October I moved out and then because of the pandemic my workplace wasn't working anymore (security for events). But then I also got sick due to iron deficiency and then in January I had kind of hard Covid. I was unable to work, despite not having found work anyway. So what I lived of was only the money my parents sent me each week and due to new expenses while living alone, that wasn't enough. I bounced into unhealthy eating, went into a depressive phase again, was lacking motivation to cook longer than 30 mins in the kitchen bcs my roommate doesn't clean after himself (the kitchen was always so messy again even tho I always left it clean.). So, I gained weight and lost muscles because I also stopped working out because of my health and that depression. Now that I have a different workplace (actually as a PCR tester lmao) since 2 months I finally get a salary again and events also have started so I'll be able to work at my other job as well. And I am so motivated to definitely spend a penny more on healthy foods. And yes, I learned processed foods that count as unhealthy are indeed less pricy. Especially because my favourite greens are from Asia and lesser known, they are more expensive to get here. I will start my journey again, this motivated me to bounce back to where my fitness was exactly a year ago!

I went from consuming 3000 calories or more everyday full of fatty dishes, fast food, sugar desserts, alcohol almost every night and with no exercise at all. To now consuming only a maximum of 1,500 calories a day, full of vegetables, protein, white rice, black coffee and working out. It's the best feeling I've felt in a while. I have a really bad binge disorder. I will usually drink a coffee in the morning, I only have lunch half the time but when I come home I’ll binge on over 4000 calories, sometimes even more. I’m always tired and have high cholesterol (in 17 but it’s genetic) meaning what I eat puts me at risk for heart issues. Recently I’ve started seeing a food therapist who’s helped me make changes toward a healthier life. I still really struggle, especially when I “relapse” but I think I’m getting better. This video is a great representation of not only what food can do to your body, but also how it controls you mind.

I know this is an old comment, but just wanted to say that I’ve had the same experience! I struggled most of my life with binge eating and a generally unhealthy relationship with food, but working with a weight neutral nutrition counselor was so helpful for me. I definitely learned to prioritize having full meals for breakfast and lunch, but also to work through my internal stigma around binge foods. Once I started eating consistently, and not restricting any types of food, I binged less, and my body started to crave more veggies/fruit/etc. I hope you’ve had a helpful experience as well! I recommend reading about intuitive eating, if you haven’t. I like this video, but some of the shaming around fast/processed video isn’t really helpful for people specifically with disordered eating.

Definitely not malnutrition. You can live off fast food. You shouldn't, but you can. I'm not sure if it's the calorie density, the typically off the chart of salt and fat that puts you in nap mode. Pretty much the same thing in many 3rd world countries too. A pack of instant noodles/ramen in my country is as low as USD 0.10, versus the cheapest bundle of local spinach being double the price. The former can be stretched with an egg and rice to feed a family of six, while the latter would need other condiments/sauces/pantry staples that not many have. At least where I live. TLDR: For a first world country, the US food culture behaves closer to that of a third world country.

@@patheticgamer325 yeah, pizza can be pricey especially if you're coming from somewhere where bread isn't really a staple. A USD15 pizza would easily buy 2kg of pork plus the veggies, but time and capacity to cook it may be inhibitive for some. Though that same USD15 can also purchase 15 cans of corned beef where a can = 1 whole day of sodium requirement.

you dont need to burn all your money at Whole Foods to buy healthy, delicious food and produce. Farmers markets can also be quite unaffordable. I highly recommend going to international markets in your area that tend to have cheaper prices, better + seasonal produce, and tend to be family owned and operated!

I was vegan for 6 years. Healthiest I’ve ever been, going to the gym and working out everyday, recently in the past year or so I gave that up and started eating out 3-4 times a week and making really unhealthy choices. Ive been aware of these decisions, but have been lacking the motivation to change my diet and lifestyle, this video honestly gave me so much motivation to get back to where I used to be, thank you guys for doing this and bringing more awareness to how much eating can impact your mental health. Tomorrow is a new day and I’m going to change one day at a time :)

It was the processed food that made you feel like shit. Not the animal protein. Good luck though. Some people can sustain being vegan if you chow a ton of spirulina. I did the opposite. I had a standard American diet, read the four hour body, healthy meats, slow carbs, good fats, lots of greens, one cheat day a week. Inflammation gone, no cholesterol issues (eating all kinds of meat). Everyone’s needs are different. Vegan doesn’t work for everyone just like my way of eating doesn’t. Find yours and don’t be a bi*ch about it. More than one way to skin a cat. Or a piece of tofu.

Fascinating - well done guys! I've increased my dark green veg (Kale, etc) and fibre-rich fruit, nuts and seeds. Microwave steamed veg, with a sprinkle of mixed seeds plus a little drizzle of extra-virgin Olive oil and/or a squeeze of lemon tastes great. Also a couple of dried figs a day is fabulous if your digestive system needs a little more help! I'm happy to bid takeaways bye-bye, because healthier food is actually easier to prepare and cook, as well as simply being better for my insides.

9:13 EXACTLY! I used to eat like complete shit and would always feel hazy when trying to think about something or concentrate. I never correlated it with the fact that I ate extremely poorly b/c i was so used to it. As soon as I started eating a balanced organic diet with more vegetables I stopped losing train of thought and was able to articulate what I was trying to say so much better. It's not really surprising to say but when you are so used to a horrible diet you forget that what you ingest directly effects your mind and body.

@@theroadnottakentravel I mean… their eating habits beforehand were the COMPLETE opposite of the challenge they endeavored in this video. As someone who eats “healthy” and junk food about the same amount I can say that I don’t feel good or bad when I eat only junk food or only healthy food because I’m used to it. They’re not. Especially Thomas, felt bad for him! All that grease that he’s not used to can seriously be so damaging to his healthy body. That’s my take though, you might be right. Who knows.
