i didn't know *The Addams Family* was like this!!! || First time watching - Movie Reaction

this was my first time watching anything Addams Family related and was not prepared for how the family moves..
When a man (Christopher Lloyd) claiming to be Fester, the missing brother of Gomez Addams (Raul Julia), arrives at the Addams' home, the family is thrilled. However, Morticia (Anjelica Huston) begins to suspect the man is a fraud, since he cannot recall details of Fester's life. With the help of lawyer Tully Alford (Dan Hedaya), Fester manages to get the Addams clan evicted from their home. Gomez realizes the two men are conspiring to swindle the Addams fortune and that he must challenge Fester.

Fun Fact: After the movie premiered, children would frequently recognize Raul Julia as Gomez Addams out in public, which according to him, always brought a smile to his face. Julia stated that Gomez Addams was by far his favorite role, and his family said this recognition was especially meaningful to him in the final months of his life because he loved performing for children and making them happy whenever the opportunity presented itself. RIP Raul Julia. Music Enthusiast Fact: Originally, the "Mamushka" scene was supposed to be longer, with a full song describing brotherly love, and both Gomez and Fester naming other famous brothers. Test screenings revealed that audiences felt this song brought the movie to a standstill. The film shows an edited version with only Gomez and Fester dancing, and Gomez throwing the knives at Fester. The full song can be found on the motion picture soundtrack. The extended version of the scene was released on the 2021 Blu-Ray. He Is Fester Fact: The actors were concerned about the ambiguity of the big Fester storyline. Initially, it was going to be unknown if Gordon, the man suffering from memory loss who looks just like Uncle Fester, was actually Fester. The cast members nominated Christina Ricci to give an impassioned plea to Scott Rudin and Barry Sonnenfeld two weeks before shooting, that Fester should not be an impostor. Sonnenfeld remembered that the only cast member to not care was Christopher Lloyd, the man playing Fester.

Nice suit Ralphie! "What type of freaky-deaky $h!t are you into?" The Addamses are the epitome of horny goths. Gomez adores his wife and she enjoys his adoration. Most of that went over my head as a kid, but the rewatches are still great fun. Definitely check out the sequel around Thanksgiving 🦃

This was so much fun to revisit and you nailed your Gomez cosplay! Are you planning to react to the sequel? I think it's Addams Family Values. These movie reactions are far more appealing to me than horror movie reactions that are everywhere all October.

The Addams family may be dark, but there full of family love, and are more functioning than normal family. I mean who wouldn't love supportive parents that not only love and cares for your happienes, but your education and making sure your growing in to a great adult to there family morals. Also who wouldn't love to have a love like Gomez and Morticia?

Although they're definitely odd, Gomez and Morticia have the greatest marriage in tv and film. He adores her and will do anything for her and she feels the same way about him. As parents, they're very involved with their children as well.

What we see as scary and weird, this family relish in anything dark and macabre. There are very few people outside the family that accept them for who they are, even if some things still freak them out. Tully clearly wants to keep his rich clients on side and maybe Margaret was so bored of her life the Addams’ gave that bit of excitement back. Gomez and Morticia are the prime example of a marriage that has kept its spark even after 15+ years and two ( soon to be three) children. The baby grow has three legs not two legs and an appendage!! It was just a visual joke.

A business meeting without sword play is like a day without sunshine. But, yeah, they'll take someone in without question; aa weird as they are, the Addams are a bunch of cinnamon rolls. Half the trouble they get into is because they tend to be too trusting. But they always come out in the end. Can't beat a family that sticks together like they do.
