Honestly it’s the biggest fault of the game. My first ending Emily broke up with me because I interpreted her and Evelyns questions differently. Evelyn asked “do you want to settle down” and I was like “yeah eventually I do” and then Emily asked “do you want to settle down like right after college” and I was like “I guess not” because I would like to settle down but not like immediately tho tbf I might’ve misinterpreted the question. What's irritating about how both Emily and Evelyn reacted is the fact that most teenagers aren't sure what they are planning to do after high school anyway. We have a bunch of different plans/ideas/paths that sound good to us. He wasn't lying by saying that both lives sound good to him. Most of the responses are surface level anyway, though, in order to get the different endings, so this would be easier to explain in real life.

I have a story for this. When I was in high school, I had a reputation of being a hugger lover. Every chance I got, I hugged my friends, whether as a greeting, a farewell, or just because. At this same time, I had a boyfriend, who was a total sweetheart and super understanding of everything I did. He'd only ever been jealous of one of my guy friends, and that was because said guy friend and I were super close buddies. Well, some of my friends got the special treatment where I would occasionally lean against them for comfort. Platonically. Promise, I had another guy friend who did it all the time with everybody, and they all knew he wasn't looking to flirt, he was being purely platonic about the display of friendship. He's actually where I got it from. Well, one of our other mutual friends told me that my boyfriend was really bothered when I did that and that he wished I would stop. You know how our next conversation went? Me: Hey, x friend said you didn't like when I do [previously mentioned thing]. Is that true? Him: Nah, it's honestly just her that is bothered by it. She thinks it's weird. Me: Oh okay I let it go. Because I trusted that he was telling me the truth, and he was. Evelyn, on the other hand, went completely nuts. It doesn't matter if Mark was able to explain his stance or not, Evelyn did not handle it well at all. If she felt she couldn't trust him because of one thing someone else said to her, whether it was true or not, that relationship was already doomed to fail from the start.

Cool story tbh. Emily is away 1 and 2 really had reached me, because (specially the first one) I've been through a situation VERY similar (if not the exact same one) a long time ago. I really liked these games because I felt the nostalgia of being hurt by a very close friend (more like the 1st game) and just forgetting about it because we stopped talking after that... really cool games (this ending tho was just ridiculous) and very well made and designed. Also, it's an easy mistake to make because when you talk to Emily about it in Chapter 2 she says "do you want to settle down like right after?", and Evelyn doesn't, she just asks what are your plans after college, so you can reply, thinking that you want to settle down at some point but not right away, I really wish Kyle Seeley would have given that as an option in this ending :/

I'm sorry but Chapter 5 killed this game for me. The rest of it was great but Eve's convo in 5 was so over the top and dramatic. First off, to say that the lie was hidden from her and she had to find out was total bs. As if she would have to know every conversation you've ever had with other people you may know. It wasn't hidden from her, it was just pointless information that was never necessary to be discussed. And to go off and say that she doesn't even know Mark anymore because of this one inconsistency is totally ridiculous. It just seemed like no matter what was said to her, she just continued to make Mark out to be the worst human being on the planet without anyway to explain or defend himself. I'm sorry, I just needed to vent that out. :)

Wow that ending killed the game for me. She treats it as some big lie. As if we had cheated on her. But no. It was a decision. Decisions. CHANGE. She turned into a spoiled brat by the end of it. Just disgusting. If the relationship was that fragile, it never would’ve lasted to begin with. And what was with “selling him out”? Some possessive jealous shit. If she was shown to like the main character but never could admit it, that could’ve worked. But no, it came out of nowhere. Wow this ending sucked. I wholeheartedly agree. I ended up hating both girls because of this ending. What Emily did felt very vindictive, petty and done out of jealousy more than anything else, and how Evelyn reacted to the whole situation made her look very stuck up, unreasonable, immature and not ready for a serious relationship at all, let alone for starting a family with someone. Another problem with the ending Mark got was that the game automatically assumed he had chosen a different answer to the family question with each girl only because he was being dishonest and was just playing around with both of them, which wasn't the case. He actually even explained why that one reply of his to Emily was different than the one to Evelyn. Moreover, if you think about it, it was one slightly different answer, and Evelyn in this ending seemed to have made too big a deal out of it. Imo, she actually acted exactly like those friends of hers who automatically believed Steve when he tried to twist the truth about the kiss although they didn't know what actually happened. She just chose to blindly believe Emily, without ever questioning her motives, and acted like she knew the whole story when, in fact, she couldn't and didn't. I completely understand why this ending made Mark feel bad. One small difference in replies, and the game treated Mark's character like a horrible liar and manipulator, taking away any and every chance of saving the relationship with Evelyn.

it is a very real and relatable game, the creator of this game has either experienced or have asked others about such situations since this is a pretty accurate simulation of how some people had some situations go at this age. as it is stressful to revisit this time for some, the past is the past and we are all living and breathing, going on with life. be glad to have experienced anything over nothing at all

both emily and evelyn remind me of an incredibly toxic friend who manipulated and gas lighted me for years. When Mark was trying to read both conversations and respond, that reminded me of constantly switching convos with the toxic friend and another friend who would keep me grounded. When Mark took too long to respond and Emily got angry and left, it reminded me of how the toxic friend would get angry at me for not responding when she took DAYS to respond to a text. This gameplay really hit home for me in so many ways and it was truly enjoyable to watch.

I love the comparison and contrast between Mark and Jack. I liked how Jack slowed down and treated this game as an actual situation in his younger life, and gave a lot of thought behind his answers. At the same time, I like how Mark treated it as it is: a game. True, it would have been interesting for him to take it slower like Jack, but at the same time, this is a really good example of what happens when you say things to people without considering if there will be consequences. Good videos on both their parts, and this game is really eye opening to the past for self reflection.

I was loving this game until the last episode. The whole "oh my god, my boyfriend told some girl something different than he told me and now he's the worst person in the world and I hate him and our whole relationship is based on LIES" is so over-exaggerated...if one lie was all it took to ruin a relationship, then no two people would ever stay together. And the fact that the game didn't seem to offer any possible solution to fix the situation made it even worse. Agreed, please understand, and I regret the way I put this comment. I know this is a game but what aggravated me is just the way this situation was handled. Again, I'm more than aware these people aren't real people, they're fictional, but the situations in this game and they were handled and the reactions of the characters is what pissed me off. And I don't think were handled properly. The majority of my friends are females and I've seen plenty of damage done by boys and I know situations like this are all too common and can be avoided by taking different approaches. No wrong, I got the good ending EVEN having taken too long to respond to emily. The reason why mark got the chapter like that was not purely because he took to long to reply to emily and she just got mad, it was other decisions as well (like not staying congruent). He got the chapter desgined like that for him from the beginning because of many of his poor decisions in the previous chapters. I played the game myself and I got a good ending, with an amazing relationship with both of them without a single confrontation at the end chapter EVEN having taken too long to respond to emily. It was truly beautiful. I was able to have an amazing friendship with emily as well. And that was on my first run without having watched anyone else or knowing any special tricks. So having taken too long to answer to emily was NOT what guaranteed that ending.

Emily going to go "the way she talks about you is so DIFFERENT from the you I know"...he literally did one thing wrong, plus eve and em really didnt give two fucks about him it was literally all about them. He listened to them both, talks to them both, and was nice to them both. One lie was such a big mistake and they were being dramatic asf.

oh my gosh you just made me realize something; we never hear this person talk about their problems. It is literally all about these two girls. I understand that from a story point of view they wanted it to feel like you were talking to them, but they could've had this character talk a little about his or her life. These two girls never even ask about this person's day or problems.

Technically they didn't even contradict each other. Like Mark said, he does want a family but not right away, it's an easy mistake to make in this game with those answers because Emily asks if you want to settle down like right away but Evelyn doesn't

You can say different answers to things, but if you do something like what Mark did (two answers that can mean the same thing, just in different scenarios), it doesn't give you an option to explain that to either of them and then both girls blow it right out of proportion
