A carefully crafted short film, which highlights the importance of making your end of life wishes clear: from deciding whether you wish to be resuscitated to planning your funeral. Consisting of five scenarios, which came as a direct result of community involvement, the film conveys a powerful and emotionally charged message. With high production values, a brilliant cast and a delicate touch, a poignant resource has been created to act as a stimulus for changing the way the nation thinks about death.
I didn't want that... choosing where you wish to die
If you had a choice, where would you choose to die? This film shows how difficult it can be for families to make that decision on a loved ones behalf. Here we see a granddad, daughter and granddaughter struggling to cope with an impending death. With moving performances and reflections on happier times, this short film highlights the importance of discussion for all involved.
I didn't want that... choosing whether you wish to be resuscitated
When terminally ill, resuscitation is rarely successful and can result in a painful death. In this scenario we see a brother being left with the difficult decision of whether to resuscitate. Unfortunately his decision results in his loved one being denied his end of life wishes simply because they were never made clear. Working closely with the Brighton & Sussex University Hospitals NHS Trust, pFlix Films captured an accurate portrayal of resuscitation to show both the reality of a resuscitation attempt and the traumatic effect it can have on those left watching.
I didn't want that... leaving a will
You may think that upon your death your possessions would automatically go to your nearest and dearest but sadly this isn't always the case. In this film we see the effects of not leaving a will and how the death of a loved one can be made worse by suddenly finding your family home striped of personal touches. This film highlights how important it is to make preparations after your death and to think about those left behind.
I didn't want that... planning your funeral
The perfect funeral for one won't necessarily be perfect for the next. Your life has been unique to you and with all the best intentions in the world, if left to your family and friends would you get the funeral you want? This film looks at a stereotypical and rather surreal gay funeral to raise awareness of the importance of making plans to ensure you get the send off you deserve. pFlix Films were overwhelmed with the level of community involvement and along with the support of The Consortium and Green Endings a thought provocative film has been produced.
I didn't want that... making preparations for your pets
You may not wish to think of a world where you would be separated from your much-loved pet. But what if no one stepped forward to take responsibility for their care? In this scenario we see the consequences of not making provisions and how a beloved pet can be left vulnerable and alone. With the support of Scruffy Dogs, pFlix Films captured what life can be like for a dog that suddenly finds himself with no owner.

It's always better to talk than try to read a loved ones mind about what you want for 'when the time comes'...far better to talk BEFORE that time comes so everyone's prepared :-)

Taking care for my most beloved friend for years, I also didn't know how to talk, how to start talking, so I always just started, out of the blow-like and it ended up very honest, very good relating and we did everything how he wanted till the very end of his life and also a part after leaving the body...

Superb film. We need a cultural change about our views towards death. We can't avoid the inevitable.
