Thank you for these videos. I am doing my very first Camino in July 2024. Meeting up with my cousin on her last norte route 100km in Baamonde. I plan to walk to Finisterre after Santiago solo. I'm so happy that my videos are helping you prepare! I love that you will do the last 100km with your cousin (make sure to stay in the monastery in Sobrado dos Monxes, if you can!). And I just love the walk to Finisterre, it's really so beautiful :)

Great to see this walk as Its one I would love to do one day. Day one looked lovely. When I was on the bus to Finisterre I wondered what the trail would be like.

Day 1 IS really nice (though there's a big, long hill that seems to go on forever- I didn't take any footage of it, I was probably just focused on getting to the top!! But even with the climb, it's a nice stage)

Congratulations for your videos. When you explain when you met again other pilgrims i remember when i met a couple in my firts Camino in 2010 in Puente la reina. They were very young......one moth moreless i met them again in Samos......They recognice me......come on Camino is very special. Have an amazing life pilgrim

Yes, that is one of my favorite and most special parts of the Camino- to see someone who you never thought you would see again!

You can get the bus to Ferrol and walk the Ingles back to SdC. I did it this year and it’s good, different landscape and well supported.

When I put this video together I realized that I didn't take any footage of the hill... which is understandable because I'm sure I was just focused on getting to the top! It never ends!!

Hi Nadine! I've been following you here for a long while now. I so appreciate your advice, videos and inspiration! I will be doing the French Camino starting April 27. I want to go to Finisterre. I am going to be in Santiago June 6. I Want to rest then walk on to Finisterre..I saw the albergue in your video. I love it. I appreciate the curtains around beds! Where was that albergue and it's name? I have found a few up there but hoping to stop where you were. Also, how long did you walk before your first albergue? It's confusing how far I'll be walking. Does it only take 2 days to get to Finisterre? I'm curious how many albergues you stayed at along your way there. How many km did you travel between each albergue. It will be my first time, I am going alone and I am 70 this July. I appreciate any information you can share with me. Thank you!! and BUEN CAMINO!

I'm glad you found the information! I think most pilgrims walk to Finisterre in 3 or 4 days (if you have the time, 4 days would be a very nice walk... 3 is doable, but a couple days will be big!). Do you save all your videos on your phone, or back them up as you go? Do you edit and upload during Camino, or wait until you get home? Thanks again!

Hi Brian, planning for the first Camino is a joy all its own! I don't have a great system for recording; I do just save my videos on my phone (but I have a lot of cloud storage, so they get backed up there... I might be sacrificing quality a bit, but it keeps me from having to carry a backup system). I tried to edit and post as I went along this summer, but it was tough. I think I only managed about 5 or 6 videos and then gave up, and decided to wait until I got home. I would love to do more 'real time' posting from my walks, but I also do daily 'mini-blogs' that I post to Instagram, and those journal entries are really important to me, too. So those took priority, and the videos waited until I came back home.

I had always wondered about this section--I have not seen very many videos about it. Have thought a lot about how I would do that stage after Santiago out to the coast--would I want to do it after "finishing"--and would I walk it or bike it?

It's always felt to me like a really nice coda, a little bonus section that has a beauty all its own. A lot of pilgrims stop when they reach Santiago- which I really understand- but the walk to the coast is quiet and calm, and in my experience has been this almost unique opportunity to form a small and fleeting (and new!) Camino family. Biking it would be a great option as well!

hi Nadine ive heard that there is an online pre-registration required. is this true ? also can you give newbies like myself..tips on sim cards ? and techie stuff.... im starting in France is there a " euro" sim or should i get on in Spain ? i need info ..... im going spending a few days in Paris... tips on Apps... all the little things pro camino walkers forget to mention....lol keep smile that smile 😁😁😁😁😁 🙏🏿 Dean

I'll probably do a few more "frequently asked questions" videos, so I can try to answer some of that soon! But as far as I know, no pre-registration needed! You'll need a credential to stay in albergues, and to get stamped along the way if you want a compostela when you arrive in Santiago, but otherwise, no registration required!

I have meaning to ask you about your pack, the brand, the size and how much you like it.

I got my pack about 8 years ago, it's a Deuter ACT Trail, 24 liter (though it's always seemed just a bit bigger than 24 liters!). It's not made anymore, and so I'm holding onto it as long as I can, but it's getting on its last legs. I really love it- it fits my body well, and it's small size means I don't overpack and so it's on the lighter side. It also has a zipper all around the body of the pack (in addition to an opening at the top), so I can lay it on its side and essentially open it up, almost like a suitcase. It's really convenient to be able to access things inside throughout the day if I need to!
