Hairstylists say you should get a trim every three months so they can build a clientele. If it's healthy then leave it alone. Love the video by the way.

Way back when I was in my early twenties I left my hair alone for 4 years. No trims no heat, just kept it tied back and left it alone. It went from a bob cut at my ears to down to my butt. I had barely any split ends and my hair was thick all the way down. Now I’m in my thirties I’ve been trimming my hair every 3 months and have barely had any growth, so I’m going back to what I did when I was younger and I’m leaving my hair alone. I honestly feel like I have more split ends now even though I trim it more vs back when I left it alone.

Yeah I haven’t cut my hair for a year and I hardly have any split ends. I personally don’t think it’s necessary to trim your hair often if you don’t have many split ends. I just use the search and destroy method for split ends I can find, then leave the rest of my hair alone. My hair is very healthy so yeah I agree with you. I’d your hair isn’t super damaged or split there’s no reason to cut it

My hair was down to my shoulders and I got it cut way too short. I really just don't like how short it is now, and I'm so uncomfortable. Doing what I can to help it grow, it actually has grown a little. I've been using rosemary water, oils, washing it once or twice a week, etc and so fourth. I've done this my whole life too. I crave length and I always end up cutting it off.

Hi, loved this video! ❤️ I am on a similar hair journey, I just cut off a lot of damaged hair and now it’s between shoulder and armpit length. I quit using heat/dye last year and plan to continue throughout 2020. I can’t wait to see how much it grows by the end of the year now that it’s healthy. I subscribed & would love to see more videos regarding your hair growth/hair care! P.s. your natural hair color is so pretty! 😊

I'm doing an experiment too. It came from lockdown as I couldn't get to a hairdresser. So I thought I'm just going to let it grow, even now as salons are open again. One of my wishes as a teeny was to have really long long hair but it just got thin at the ends. Unfortunately a lot is due to genetics, but will be interesting to see how long it does grow even without trims. My hair looks pretty awful without blow drying so don't know if I could not do that😬😂

although your hair is healthy, brushing it causes natural deadends. It's advised to at least ¼ of an inch cut off every 4 months or so. I made the same mistake & after awhile of me not cutting my hair, athough i used no heat, i still had split ends.

Stop using heat stling tools and over washing hair twise week leave it oily and only trim not fully cut hair. Only trim the damage split ends. Use only natural hair for your type. Stop dying your hair. And you will grow healthy thick and shiny hair. Also take hair vitamins. And you should be be fine. But fight the temptation to dye and trim heat style.

I have alot of dead hair and very thin from the ends but I'm still not cutting my hair for a year... I did trim last time in dec 2021 as a last trim and made a new year resulution not to cut my hair for a year... I'm not using heat, oiling regularly, putting on hair masks when I feel they are getting very dry, taking vitamins, using mild shampho, using oil replacement and serum after shower, braiding, covering it while being out in sun and using scrunches.

I also didn't cut my hair for more than one year. However, before getting into this hair journey I bleached and dyed my hair so the end of my hair is horrible. The end is so thin and I have been losing a lot of volume. My scalp got really dry and I have been going through a tough time. I am still debating if I should cut it.
@EstherPerepechkin
@EstherPerepechkin 2 жыл бұрын
I would take a couple inches of your ends. My ends are pretty healthy right now but there’s no point in keeping the dry hair! Cut a couple inches and just start a healthier routine! Apple oils everyday to the ends of your hair! Use a good shampoo and conditioner and try to not wash your hair often. Also try an oil mask before your wash your hair!

So when you say you “didn’t use heat on your hair for a whole year”... that’s not actually true if you used it “3-4 times during the year”

Ashleigh Gasson using heat 3-4 times in a year will not do anything to your hair. Just like working out only 3-4 times a year.

You can go a long time not needing a haircut if you don't use heat in your hair. Heat damages your hair, especially your ends, leading to needing a haircut.
