Had an asshat, who boasted how much better a photographer he was than I. He stated he had placed 2nd for his photography in the local County Fair. I informed him that he was right, after all, my photography was published around the world in major newspapers, books, federal publications, and other publications. But I must suck because I've never been in a photo contest! 😆 🤣 😂

Lol Jared why do you hate crops so much. Rather have good composition with a crop than a bad photo with no crop. Some people buy high megapixel cameras just for a crop.
@froknowsphoto4 жыл бұрын
do whatever you want. I personally don't crop. But the point I am making is these were not crops to make the images better, they were just bad crops.
@tielmaster78794 жыл бұрын
@@froknowsphoto yeah I see what you're saying. I had a photography teacher who was the opposite of your's though, the guy heavily encouraged us to crop, not a severe crop but something light to make the image better.
@Abarataphoto4 жыл бұрын
Don't think JP did any hate comment on the crops, just that they were cropped and that's not his style, but if it's the photographer's style it's all good. A critique is always 100% subjective, so if someone does stuff in a way JP wouldn't he will state that, but in the end the critique was quite positive.

Greetings, Jared. I so much agree that the pictures of both products and the exteriors are good. You say you got to get the compo. right in cam., because you have the time to compose it. If any other compo., would ruin the priorities within the compo., you need to prioritize recording the intruding vegetation, and heal it away in post. Depends on what the photographer likes in the compo. You do need to get things right in cam., yes, but you should to your sentence have added, "... if you can". I do this thing :). Neat vid. :).

It feels weird Jared that you are critiquing his photos because about 1/2 way through I was like “ this guys better than fro” then I went to your website , and he is better. Yes I agree there is some over editing but other than that he is a very accomplished photographer way better than you or me. I don’t get the whole crop-thing either. Jared, is it the 2x3 aspect ratio you like? Or just the fact that you don’t like crops? If you were using a medium format camera which is 4x5, would you crop to 2x3? Crop for comp, for sure. Landscapes in portrait layout usually look better 4x5.

ive heard Jared say he shot something in high school years ago and when he printed it, he cropped it. a bunch and the image was horrible. too much grain because it was all enlarged so much... hes since come out to say, he doesnt crop anything...
@Tecra-md3by4 жыл бұрын
@@truthsayers8725 Well, his high school years were a while ago. Modern cameras are around 20MP mostly, even phones don't go much below 12MP, people view images on phones, monitors or small prints (barely ever larger than A4). Monitors are mostly 1080p or 4K, for 1080p, you only need 2.1MP and for 4K you only need 8.5MP, so even those 12MP phones give you plenty of room for cropping for when you just can't get the composition right (because of the distance for example, or you just don't own a lens narrow enough), or when you just simply have different feelings looking at the image while you're editing and feel like the composition doesn't fit those feelings and you want to get rid of some things on the image...

That astro shot with the dotted line: a long exposure, maybe 30 seconds, with an aircraft crossing the scene with a blinking night light. From that sharp turn at the right it's likely a helicopter. I agree, too many photos. I'm working in my own site and will send it for review when it's done.

I was looking at this too, is it an aircraft or wires? Almost seems to low for an aircraft.. Jared...you're dating yourself again... "full frame crop" is not a thing any more. No one cares. We see the world now in instagram, or TV (16:9) or cell phone form factors now. Its like "back in the day, when I was in high school, we could only present images in 8 x10 or 11 by 14 ratios... or we got our hands slapped". ForPack # is just as contra "out of the camera" photography as is cropping. Give it a rest. Have your own preference .. thats perfect. But pretending there was some rule you can't crop or its unauthentic... really?

i really dont get how people cant see that their websites layout just isnt good. Everything on your website has to represent your brand from font type, to font size, to layout to how easy it is to navigate and it has to look good on BOTH mobile and laptop/desktop. If you're using a basic shitty font that looks like comic sans, your brand loses points and it looks amateur. Your website has to be so good that if people land on it, people will have no doubt to book you. Does your website do this? Can you imagine people going to your website and saying "WOW I HAVE TO BOOK THIS GUY". I doubt it. Make it so your website does this.
