I have been sick for four years, and recovering by laying on acupressure mats. I know what it's like to feel so much constant pain in my body that my artist identity was too far away or gone for me to reach, and to have the people around me not even believe I was so sick. I had to live in bed and when I had to drag myself out for the sake other people, I was always suffering. I'm really sorry you live with chronic pain too. Nobody asked but there's a book called "The Autoimmune System Recovery Plan" by Dr. Susan Blum which talks about making lifestyle changes people can make to actually completely recover from the disease. My mom also had joint pains in her fingers due to an autoimmune disease and after following the advice in the book, she doesn't have joint pains anymore. The book also benefits and encourages people who don't have autoimmune diseases to have a healthier lifestyle. Hope it helps!
