I am a black woman and i must say the white father handled himself very well. People have a right to date whomever they want. He wants the best for his daughter. If he doesn't like interracial relationship, that is his business. It doesn't mean that he is a racist. We have men who don't date women because of their hair and body size. Doesn't mean that it's wrong. It is his preference. He came to the show which means that he still loves his daughter, he doesn't mind seeing his grandchildren. I totally agree with him. Biracial children go through a cultural identity crisis with themselves. I wouldn't want to bring biracial children in this world either. This isn't uncommon with many families & it just doesn't happen with race. I am Irish(both sides). My grandmother went to her grave not speaking to her oldest son because he married a Italian(1950's). It's crazy. I didn't know that I had another uncle & didn't meet him until I was 13 yrs old. My mom's youngest sister took me to meet him & his family. The rest of our family was furious with her. As for me, I was just delighted to meet the rest of my family!

I feel badly for this family. He was at least honest. I feel like people need to be honest about how they feel. He did show up and try to understand her side.
@kaifreeman2943 жыл бұрын
@ 6:50 that isn't necessarily true because a lot of times (even if the parent's aren't racist) kids "teen's especially" could still learn to hate from there pier's because I have seen other talk show's pertaining to that particular issue.

This issue is a spiritual thing... When you learn the reason for it you understand the feelings of the man.

I kind of get where he is coming from. Seems like he had a problem with the guy.... and then on top of that... he was black. He did admit he might have some racist ways... and that right there, is the cure to deal with it and get right.
@striker122413 жыл бұрын
@Sannypowa I don't think you got what I was saying earlier. You said something about how all children are a result of two loving parents (or something like that), which isn't always true of course, because many serial killers lived in very abusive households where their parents mentally, physically and verbally abused them resulting in their problems and their inability to empathize with other humans. I never mentioned racism in my comment.

Wow... My Papa didn't speak to my mother for 3 months when he found out that my mother was pregnant with me, by a Haitian-American boy she met in college but was ONLY angry at them both because of their ages and they both decided to leave school because of it but INSISTED on being the typical, overbearing but super spoiking grandfather every grandchild deserves. He's never had an issue with my race, nor my birth father's and has always supported me, my partners no matter the race, and my mother. It astounds me that people refuse children within their lives simply because they're darker than they are. Kids can change lives and he's missed an amazing oppurtunity to welcome and encourage different races. Disgusting.

@pugdogy Exactly. I ran into the same problem with my grandparents. They thought it was wrong for me to have a mixed kid. Then when my daughter was born they did everything thing they could to take her away from me, and tried to show her off like a trophy because she was beautiful.

I understand what he is saying... Being Bi-Racial is difficult, but with Love and understanding the child would grow strong. It truly is not a Racial, but rather a Security issue... Everyone wants to know their child is emotionally & financially secure.. And truly it’s pot-luck with a Black man.
